Greetings one and all!

Todays additions, though few, are heartfelt. Personally, I've never heard of either of these groups, but I'm sure I will shortly. I'd have queued up some examples, but Gnosis was running, and Alex would have probably had issues had I stepped on his show.

Gargantua - Gargantua
Paatos - Kallocain

And, for reasons known to nobody in particular, it seems that one album didn't get announced. Shame on me. I blame the hours I work.

Satriani, Joe - Surfing with the Alien

(and if that got double announced, well, it's such a kickin' album, it deserves two. So there. :P )

Enjoy!

Hoo boy. We've got a bunch of new stuff. Some I've actually heard of, too! Some of it sounds awful eclectic. Some of it to the point of unpronouncability (is that a word?).

Electric Orange - Orange Communication
McLaughlin, John - Adventures In Radioland

Now it's generally considered bad form to quote your own stuff. However, I've never been known for my form, so here are my comments:

Blezqi Zatsaz - The Tide Turns
This one is turning into a total surprise. I'm not usually a fan of artists I have trouble pronouncing. On this one, I will make an exception. This is a must hear. Very, VERY tight accoustic guitar. Highly suggested.

Drama - Drama

Another surprise from the vault. I find that I"m starting to like this one. Nuances and dynamics that I was certainly NOT expecting. This is another one that I plan to investigate as time goes on.

McLaughlin, John - Adventures In Radioland

This one probably surprised me more than anything else. I was expecting more new-agy/neo-prog from Mr. McLaughlin, and have been pleasantly surprised at the balance involved. Very tight, free flowing, yet secure in itself. Must Investigate More.

Mostly Autumn - The Spirit of Autumn Past

Typical of Mostly Autumn. This is not a disparaging comment at all. They do what they do very well. Nice, relaxing music without being sleep inducing or overly impressed with themselves. And it shows in their music.

National Health - Missing Pieces

This one leaves me a bit confused. How about some feedback? Good? Bad? Too neo/classical/medal, ETC.

Actually, I'd LOVE to hear some feedback on all of these. I, for one, am impressed at the quality and dynamics that are being re-introduced into the 'rock music' genre as a direct result, IMO of the progressive rock scene.
And a couple of late additions:

Hackett, Steve - A Midsummer Night's Dream
Hackett, Steve - Voyage Of The Acolyte

I personally am looking forward to hearing a bunch of this new stuff. From what I've heard, it should be some outstanding work.

Well, enough rambling. I have to get up in far too few hours.

We've managed to locate some VERY interesting looking tracks (they all look interesting if you can read MP3 encoding, but that's another story, of course).

As always, enjoying the music is encouraged, and tossing live ordinance at Microsoft Corporation, while cheered upon by a certain contingent of Aural Moon members, is generally frowned upon by the authorities.

Instead of doing my patriotic duty as an American by slamming down a sixer of Budweiser and laughing at the two idiots debating for the presidency, I decided to take this wonderful opportunity to upload Jim's latest contribution to the station.

And let me tell you, those contributions are wide ranging and significant (as opposed to the two faces that are making noise on the TV at this time)

OK...while I was busy running Gagliarchives and chasing down errant inodes and forcing them into submission, Jim's been doing what Jim does best: finding cool stuff. And lots of it. And when I say lots, ladies and gentlemen, I'm not talking about your run of the mill lots. I'm talking about lots on steroids. Lots that need special permission to drive on the freeways. Greetings and salivations, Moonies!

I know that you all by now have noticed that I've made this particular thread sticky. No, it's not because I'm so enamoured with my own turgid prose that I expect everyone to swoon at every keystroke.

I just got sick of trying to find the bloody thing. So I made it permanent so I wouldn't LOSE it.

Anyway, here's the latest additions to the library. Some VERY interesting looking stuff. I'm going to dig around at these my very own self as time allows...

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I've been a slacker, and I've let work get piled up on me. I was kidnapped by aliens. I was a witness to a mob related drive by shooting involving the Hell's Grannies and have been in the witness protection program. I've been working on a top secret government project involving goose liver pate and it's use as rocket propellant. Did I mention I was kidnapped by aliens?

Hoo boy. Progdirjim has done it again. It seems like only yesterday (or maybe the day before at the very earliest) when I thought it impossible for him to outdo himself in the cool tunes department. He proves me wrong again to the tune of TWENTY FIVE new albums!

Note: there's a whole lot of Mastermind in this update, and that's all re-ripped tunage. I'm not sure what happened to those files, but every time one played, it kicked off the Infamous CPU Bug(TM).

Anyway, I'm gonna commence with the shutting of up and posting of music:

4Front - Gravity
Anima Mundi - Septentrion
Aries - Aries
Atoll - L'araignee-Mal
Bad Dog U - Bad Dog U
Bergamini, Joe - Arrival
Bezar, Emily - Angels' Abacus
Bezar, Emily - Four Walls Bending
Edhels - Saltimbanques
Embryo - Steig Aus
Giardini D'Autunno - Frammenti Di Idee Perdute

Roversi, Cristiano - The Park
Sylvan - Artifical Paradise
Taproban - Outside Nowhere

And the Mastermind I was mentioning earlier:

Mastermind - Excelsior!
Mastermind - Live In Tokyo
Mastermind - Until Eternity
Mastermind - Vol. 1
Mastermind - Brainstorm
Mastermind - Tragic Symphony

See? And here you thought I was joking.

Considering the fact that the Dogwoods and Magnolias are in full bloom, and everything in Greater Atlanta is green (including the cars), would it be too horrible a pun to mention that Jim uploaded a whole bunch of new stuff that's nothing to sneeze at?

Greetings, Fellow Moonies!

Due to my recent acquisition of a New! Job!, and the interesting stresses added therein, I've been a tad lax in my duties to one and all. For this I offer my heart-felt apologies and will do my best to repent, etc.

In the mean time, Jim has NOT in fact been a lazy slacker, and has, in fact, kept his part of the bargain.

And boy has he.

Greetings and salutations, folks!

I took the initiative this weekend to add a stellar set of albums by our own ONOFFON. Their Surrender Now and Your Mind albums have been uploaded with the blessings of Von.

I highly recommend that y'all give this stuff a listen. Good jazzy feel to a lot of it with some serious symphonic prog as well. A VERY well rounded repetoir, in my not-so-humble opinion.

Greetings and salutations, Lunites!

I've actually been somewhat on the ball these days and noticed that Jim managed to stuff more Cool Stuff(TM) into the station. I, in an overabundance of a sense of duty and a desire to hear said cool stuff, did what I do, and it's done.

So there.

Anyway,

Karmakanic - Entering the Spectre
Scythe - Divorced Land
Stein, Ira and Russel Walder - Transit
Synergy - Metropolitan Suite
T - Naive
Thonk - Earth Vision Impact
Toccata - A couple of tracks

You'll notice the Toccata entry doesn't have what one would consider a valid album title.

There's a very good reason for this, and if you'll give me a bit of time to get enough coffee in my system to think it up, I'll gladly do so.

Anyway, enjoy the new tunes!

Roger -Dot- Lee, lookin' at that Karmakanic and wondering if they can fix my van. Or the string of bad luck I've been having lately....

Yes yes, I know, 07/06/05 was yesterday, and that's actually when I uploaded these nice new entries courtesy of ProgDirJim. I did my good little doobie deed and got them loaded, but I didn't do the album covers (yet) and even neglected to let y'all know about it.

I plan on rectifying both of those oversights immediately (if not sooner). In fact, I'd have done this much sooner, except for...

Just when you thought it was safe....

Jim posts what HAS to be a record. I'm not saying that it can't be beaten, simply because no sooner do I do THAT, then he takes it as a challenge and tries to outdo himself.

Like he just did.

Anyway, before I confuse anyone any further, I'd like to state that I didn't put album names on this lot, simply because there were TOO DAMN MANY and it would have taken me several hours worth of digging.

Here's the artists. I'll let y'all explore the goodies:

Antonelli Ensamble, Fabio
Astralia
Azazello
Bagsby, David
Cabaret Du Ceil
Contrappunto Project
Cossu, Scott
Critters Buggin
Doracor
Egoband
Eris Pulvia

Metheny, Pat
Mindflower
Moon Fog Prophet
Notturno Concertante
Odessa
Outside
Presto Ballet
Rain
Saturnia
Sithonia
Sunscape
The Far Side
Theatre
Thirteen of Everything
Trama

For the record, that was over 400 individual titles. All new, no duplicates, and only one artist that I'd remember seeing previously (though there may be more).

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go lay down. I think I hurt myself. Besides, I need to rest up. Rumor has it that there's a whole bunch more on the way.

Roger -Dot- Lee, ow.

Greetings and salutations, lunar buds!

In honor of Vaxman's birthday, and since I can't magically make his daughter disappear (much to his likely chagrin, I'm sure, however I'd wager that would make a birthday present he'd likely never forget), I'm going to bring you the latest and greatest to the moon instead!

Hey Dot! Why doncha let PDJim get a few Albums up before stuffin' em! That'll make your life easier!

Has anyone said that (or something similar) to themselves? I know I have! And I have only one thing to say to that:

DON'T YOU BELIEVE IT!

I take some time to do Dot type stuff, and Jim, in his Own Way, comes behind me and plugs all this stuff up for me to ignore.

And in the process, I not only rob y'all of cool music, but I make my life more difficult, and fill up the disk space on the server to boot.

I should be ashamed.

In repentence, I promise that:

I will not wait so damn long to get things stuffed and mounted.
I will not run for senate.
I'll keep on top of stuff like I should instead of lounging about like a toothless redneck. (shyaddap)
I will not ask for the translation of that one album.
I will not run for any political office.
I'll shut up now and let y'all know what I've spent most of my afternoon stuffing and mounting.

Having said that...

Greetings, folks.

After an extended absence, I have, to a limited extent, returned.

At least long enough to get caught up on the stuffing and mounting and try to figure out why y'all can't send me mail but the spammers can.

There's fundamentally something wrong with that.

Anyway, here's a list of all the cool new stuff on the library. Note: there are a couple in there that are re-rips, and a few that are remixes of older stuff.

One thing that is confusing the Moon a bit is these remasters. Currently, we have them listed by the year they were released, but does that work for you guys when you browse the playlist, which is listed chronologically? I think I'd rather see them listed with their original dates. What do ye think?

Hopefully all the damage I did to the stream (shut it down twice, and seemingly caused a track to play in silence) whilst adding this batch of music has been forgotten. Maybe when you hear some of it this stuff, it will at least have been worth it.

I'll save the excuses for work and just get into the latest updates (at least two):

Abel Ganz - The Danger Of Strangers (nice disc donated by someone. I have the accompanying letter somewhere on my desk, when I find it I'll properly give thanks)
Battles - Mirrored (crazy stuff. Mind boggling, tight playing but kind of frenetic so recommended in small doses until tolerance increases)
Captain Beyond - Sufficiently Breathless (varies between jamming straight rock and beautiful prog - nice donation from OverHillandDale)
Flower Kings - The Sum Of No Evil (Roine Stolt finally comes out with a new album - what's it been ,a few months since his last double CD?)
Peter Hammill - And Close As This
Hawkwind - Live Chronicles
Allan Holdsworth - 16 Men Of Tain (three more from OHD)
Horslips - Greatest Hits - (you may remember them from 70's radio - crossover Celtic prog)
Iceberg - (three discs of Spanish fusion from OHD - nice stuff)
Metaphor - The Sparrow (latest from the former Genesis tribute band - edgier than Genesis)
Moody Blues - Long Distance Voyager (another hole filled by OHD)
Steve Morse - Major Impacts (re-add of this one, we used to have it)
Jaco Pastorius - The Birthday Concert (this guy sure can play the bass)
Ritual - The Hemulic Voluntary Band (I don't know what Hemulic means unless it's "killer CD")

Senogul - Senogul (pretty disc from Spain)
Simak Dialog - Patahan (jazzy and nice)
Soft Machine Legacy - Steam (self-explanatory)
Joe Zawinul - Zawinul (say thanks to OHD again)

Just in time for theming Thursday!
