I tend to go to live gigs on occasion.

Yesterday in the chat, Thor expressed that he would have come down
to the NJ Prog House to see Erik Norlander and Lana Lane but that he
didn't know about it.

How about a new heading under the "Prog Rock Discussion" for the
announcement of gigs, festivals, etc. I suggest a title like "Concert
Happenings". One entry for each new gig/festival/etc. with informa-
tion on who is playing, where, when, tix (links to buy them) and a
way to organize reviews submitted by any moonies that attended
said event.

The large tours, (for exampleYES) a heading for YES: North American
Tour and a link to further info. YES: European Tour and a link... Otherwise the listing of individual gigs would be cumbersome.

Support Prog bands when they play live! Most of the smaller bands
make their money gigging; not by selling CDs.

Yep. This would be a good thing. Although I'd like to see it as a seperate forum where thread can happen for each band. The benefits:
Poeple would know about shows
People could post reviews and setlists
People could set up meeting for shows with ease
All this in one easy location!

Sweetness.

I am always envious when I read about some AMers spending some time together at a concert. I would love to meet up with some of our colourful friends. Any format is fine by me but I think that a separate forum should be allocated for concerts adn meetings.

I'm always watching www.pollstar.com for concerts coming to my area. You can, too. Just go there and search by city and check surrounding areas. Then bookmark it and check at least once a week for updates.

I just checked for the month of August and PRoNJ. It doesn't even list
the YES gig I'm going to. I doubt very much that the NJ PRog House's
gigs would get mentioned there either.

I use Pollstar too, but sometimes it misses. There's not a lot of places to choose from where I am so I tend to check the venue's websites.

It might be in your eyes

But I haden't seen it and IQ passed it around today with other concert dates. And nobody else had written it as I looked around

Perhaps the 2005 Nearfest will be the one where a few left coasters fly east
