If you can see these guys, they are at the top of ther game right now. A band I know Keith is very fond of. I've seen them twice, both this year.

I've never seen them, but I like them. I own "Puzzle". San Juan Capistrano is close enough to make the trip - if I can get my brother to drive. I'll report back if I make it...

another fan out of the woodwork! As for owning a CD, "American Highway Flower" I enjoy even more. the others I have, but may be too basic for your taste.

The best recommendation I can give is that you do not need to know anything about them to enjoy them. Their shows are always outstanding and full of energy.

Glad to see you may try to go....be shame to miss it since they already took a 4-year hiatus, and you never know when bands will up and quit.

I remember hearing a song from Dada way back when. I remember it was from the American Highway Flower cd, but I forget the name of the song. I liked the song and was waiting to hear another song from them (not being one to buy a cd from a band I haven't heard on the strength of just one song... often, anyhow) but I never did. I figured they had dropped off the face of the earth and forgot about them.

Given the response from people here on the Moon, perhaps I should have taken the plunge and bought a cd.

Actually they did!

The first two are outstanding....before they broke up, there were "El Sublisimo" and "Dada"...both a bit more straightforward.

Then they split for over 4 years. I didn't even know about records 3 and 4 until last year.

When they returned last year, "How To Be Found" was released. I really like that one, it retaines the pop and harkens back to a Beatles or pet sounds type, all the while keeping their original flavor. There's a recent live on too (I do not own).

I bought a used copy of Puzzle at a corner shop on KW's word. I don't really dig it all that much. To me they're an "OK" band. I know that a lot of bands I like are "OK" to many, and this is a vice-versa moment. I haven't gotten rid of the cd, but neither am I rushing to buy more of thier stuff. In fact, I've only listened to it twice. It hasn't made me want to "throw it on." I'll give it another spin. Maybe it's gotta grow on me.

Sorry you didn't enjoy it that much Spaz, I hope you didn't pay too much for it. :)

It can take a few listens to get into it. Another friend of mine thought the same and after another couple of spins (I think he listened to it while doing the laundry) it eventually clicked. I knew it had because when I saw him a few days later he was singing the chorus to "Dog" without even realising it.

Keep those recommendations coming in chaps/chappesses. I haven't been disappointed yet with any purchases I've made.

The only song I can name off the disc right now, meaning the only one that stuck, is that one that goes "and my mom is a movie star." That's a good one.
