This is a little bit off-topic, but probably interesting to some anyway:

"In early February 2001, Terje Isungset went to The Ice Hotel
in JUKKASJÄRVI , North Sweden, to record the first ever all ICE music CD.

All instrument were to be made from ice.
(shaped by ice-sculptors Bengt Carling, Arne Berg and Åke Larsson in cooperation with Isungset)
A number of percussion instruments, as well as ice harp and ice trumpet!
(played by Terje Isungset, Iro Haarla og Arve Henriksen, respectively)"

Yes, obviously they play, to some extent at least. http://home.online.no/~isungz/isCD.htm has some sound samples from these "instruments".

It's not really music, just soundscapes. And the trumpet and harp sound pretty pathetic :), but the idea in general is definitely exotic and funny.
