Yeah baby! I received the new Djam Karet album today, and it's making it's way to the playlist shortly. While a new DK album is always a reason to celebrate, this is one of their best ever. All the trademark DK sounds are there, and they've added acoustic guitar and more keyboards.

It's definitely the best since the Devouring, and it may be better than that. Can't decide that on one listen.

woo hoo!

Wow, I'm excited. Off to the DK website I go to find out all the details. I wasn't that bowled over by their last couple of outings, so it'll be nice to hear them back into form.

Good to see max back....since the Devouring is one of my favs of all time, this will be a good listen. Already did the 3 hr DK show, so I'll think of some excuse to spin it when it makes its way on the Moon.

Rick, you did a 3-hour DK show and I missed it? Dammit, that's what I get for not coming around more often. Any chance you archived it?

Due to the station clutter, and also that the event scheduler has been kaput for a while now (means I hand load each show), I play, then delete my shows.

I have all of the set lists to the prior shows printed at home. However, you can go back to the Rickter Scale thread and see the songs. It aired on 6/19/05.

I haven't replayed a show yet, but I can reconstruct one if there's a demand. It's no easier or harder than a regular show.

Take a look and let me know what you think, I can certainly re-air it at some point. Be warned, though there's no ambient DK:sad: But that gives me an excuse to put in some of the new record (which I haven't heard much of).

Well I found my excuse.

Jim, agreed about the DK. They just keep going and going! I just listened to it all (with my Synphonic order):dogpile:

Funny, my only human contact with DK is "sobering" up Gayle Ellett at Nearfest. But man can they make music!

Look for it on next week's show, with two other special CD's. I'm even playing the "ambient" parts

Although nothing they release will ever match the Devouring, it's still top quality.

Rickster. You HAVE to give up the day job and become a full time clairvoyant. :flutter:

Seriously, how do you know that they'll never match the Devouring? One thing about the wonderful world of Music is that you NEVER know what someone will do next. Could be good, could be bad or it could be the best thing they've ever done. I didn't think Yes would ever top Close to the Edge but they did with Tales....... (not everyone agrees with me do they Wojtek but....). They may top that next time too. I await all new albums by all artists with baited breath in the hope that it's "THE BEST".

Cause they're old and plodding and past their prime.
