I mentioned in the chat box that the first 2 Yes albums, Yes and Time And A Word, were incomplete in the request DB and Avian said it was a holdover from first starting Aural Moon and it would be fixed, but in case Avian forgot to take care of it or pass the request along, I figured I'd make it an official suggestion here. It'd be nice to have the studio version of America from Yesterdays in there as well. Here's the track listings from the latest reissue CDs (which I don't have, I have the older ones which matched the vinyl, the new CDs have alternate takes/mixes and such):
Yes - July, 1969
-------------------
1. Beyond And Before@
2. I See You
3. Yesterday And Today
4. Looking Around@
5. Harold Land@
6. Every Little Thing@
7. Sweetness
8. Survival@
9. Everydays (Single Version)*
10. Dear Father (Early Version #2)*
11. Something's Coming*
12. Everydays (Early Version)*
13. Dear Father (Early Version #1)*
14. Something's Coming (Early Version)*
@ = currently in AM DB
* = not on original release
Time And A Word - July, 1970
----------------------------
1. No Opportunity Necessary, No Experience Needed
2. Then
3. Everydays
4. Sweet Dreams@
5. The Prophet
6. Clear Days
7. Astral Traveler@
8. Time And A Word@
9. Dear Father@
10. No Opportunity Necessary, No Experience Needed (Original Mix)*
11. Sweet Dreams (Original Mix)*
12. The Prophet (Single Version)*
@ = currently in AM DB
* = not on original release
Yesterdays - February 1975
---------------------------
1. America (released as a single in July, 1972)
I suppose I can donate these CDs if these songs aren't available in AM already and just not requestable, I think I still have Jim's address around somewhere...

I thought America was in there. The first two are incomplete because I don't have them, I just have Yesterdays. But since that was a compilation, I listed the album as the orginal source album. Donations gratefully accepted...

No problem Jim, they'll be on the way shortly...

OK, the 1st two Yes (reissue) albums should arrive from Amazon.com 3-5 business days from now, sent to Jim's address on San Joaquin Drive. If you moved tell me quick so I can change it! Enjoy Moonfolk!

I just requested America from the YesYears box set (which I don't own) to see which version that is, but according to the track listing from the request DB it's only 4:04 long and my version from the Yesterdays CD is 10:34 long. Waiting for the request to come through now to see if the DB track time is just innaccurate, but if you have Yesterdays, you have the full studio version that I referred to above, I'll post again in this thread when the request comes through and let you know whether the Yesterdays version should be added to the DB or whther the box set version is the same. Thanks.

It seems the version in the AM DB YesYears boxset version is the single version of Yes's America released in 1972, it'd be nice to have the full length version on Yesterdays available for request, so if you have that please make it available Jim. If you don't, let me know, although it would suck to have to buy the whole Yesterdays album for AM just for that tune (given that the rest are just a compilation of the exact recordings from the 1st two Yes records), I'll send it along (what the hell it's only $11) .

jtmckinely! Don't spend your money! If the song's not on AM, here's a simple procedure:
1. Rip to 192kps mp3.
2. Use ID3 tags.
3. Get the tags perfect, including song title, artist name, album title, track number, date of original album release.
4. Zip them all up with WinZip or a similar program into files smaller than 1G.
5. Use www.yousendit.com and send the whole thing to Jim's email address.
Yousendit.com has a huge database where you upload files. They send an email to the recipient and gives them a download link. The recipient (Jim in this case) then can download the whole file, unzip it, and Presto! he's got all the files. Costs no one a dime. He has one week from the day you upload it to download it. Viola!

I mentioned in the chat box that the first 2 Yes albums, Yes and Time And A Word, were incomplete in the request DB To the sadness of the Yesspaz, Union is incomplete, Open Your Eyes isn't here at all (which I partially understand - though it's weak there are some strong songs), and the track "Be the One" is missing. If I recall Jim hates that track, but I like it.

Spaz, we cannot accept files due to copyright issues - we must have the actual CD...
Unless we have specific permission from the copyright holder...

Did you ever receive the Yes and Time And A Word CDs I sent Jim? It's been two weeks now since I sent them and they should have arrived from Amazon, but I don't see the additional songs in the request page yet. If you did not get them let me know so I can contact Amazon.com and find out what happened. Thanks.
