I saw ZPZ in the Detroit area at Meadowbrook. Incredible show as I've commented earlier in the AM chat. I had 2nd row orchestra pit about 10 ft. from Napolean Murphy Brock, Dweezil and Steve Vai. Amazing playing by all musicians. If you go see the show I'm fairly certain you'll enjoy it if you are a FZ fan. I loved it. Terry Bozzio sang I'm So Cute and Punky's Whips as well as bashing the drums to smithereens, not to mention playing The Black Page ('long wif Steve Vai for part 2!). Dweezil did an admirable job covering Frank's solos as well. Great selection of FZ's catalogue IMHO. Napolean Murphy Brock did an awesome job on the vox as usual. One of the best concerts I've ever seen. Great venue too. The set list was (from a fellow concert goer who said he got it from a roadie):

Imaginary Diseases
LMTWTB
Floretine Pogen
Pygmy Twylyte
Idiot Bastard SOn
Cheepnis
King Kong
Yellow Snow
St Alfonzo
Father O’Blivion
Inca Roads
I’m so cute
Trying to grow a chin
City of tiny lights
Punky’s whips
Black Page 1 and 2
Peaches
Montana
Village of the sun
Edchinda’s arf
Zomby Woof
Chunga’s Revenge

O.C ( short intro) if they played it, I missed it
Trouble
Sofa ??? The question marks are on the set list, so they may have expected to come up against the curfew

I think they did hit the curfew, Dweezil mentioned it on the way out, so I'm fairly certain the last 3 didn't get played (I don't remember hearing them anyway), but it was a great show regardless.

Sounds like it was all about the music! The first two times I saw Project Object, they just jammed. Sure, lots of levity, but it was heavy on the tunes. But last time (with NMB on vocals) they just screwed around too much. Good to see a Zappa band return to form.

Unforunately the ZPZ show didn't come close enough to me, but I'm glad you got to see them. The set list looks like it's jam-based songs, and Vai and Bozzio are spectacular live.

Sofa!
