In case you haven't heard the news, you simply must have this band in your collection. You can find rave reviews all over the web, but these guys make progressive rock without anyone knowing that it's progressive. Except that the band knows it is.

Here are some Top Prog songs from each album (there are really too many to list here tho :)

The Mollusk:
The Golden Eel
Buckingham Green

quebec:
The Argus
Transdermal Celebration

Pure Guava:
The Stallion Pt. 3

The Pod:
Right To The Ways And The Rules Of The World

White Pepper:
Flutes of Chi

GodWeenSatan: The Oneness
Squelch the Weasel
Marble Tulip Juicy Tree

12 Golden County Greats:
Fluffy

I'd like to know what you think! Oh yeah, my avatar is a vouch for the band!

I have always loved Ween. I remember trying to turn my good-friend and prog-mentor, Craig Shropshire (he of the gnosis and taiko drummer extrordinare) onto them back in like 1992. He absolutely HATED them and couldn't get past the vocals.

Ween is pretty much just Alternative Pop-Rock in my book. But then, I'm not the one who decides what is and what is not Prog here.

Ween is quite diverse in style actually. They do a lot of prog & psyche rock along with comedy, country, and metal. It's hard to pidgeon-hole them, really...

But the list above pretty much encompasses their prog stylings.

I listened to several tracks from their website, and they sound like a somewhat typical jam band with some talent to my ears. Nothing as progressive as even Phish to me, but I'm not sure I heard any of the tracks you listed. Time permitting, I'll check them out again.

Keep in mind that I like a LOT of music that doesn't get added to the Moon...

I see you guys have finally added The Mollusk. Wise choice, my friends!

They are from my area actually but they broke up earlier in the year. I just noticed today that my local library has one of their discs so I'll have to check it out(literally :P).
