Thought I would start a thread for those who will be in Montreal in one week (yay!). Perhaps we can meet up for a meal or drinks Sat/Sun. What say you?

Hey Mr O sounds like a great idea, Susan and me would love to meet you and everyone from the moon. It would be alot of fun for sure. We should think of a place to meet up, perhaps Friday night at the Pre-show we can all get acquainted and take it from there.......
Dave.

Great, OHD, fritha -
My sis and I are actually not able to make the pre-show. Not to preclude a gathering that night, but I hope we can also get together Saturday or Sunday.

I think Sallie & I will use Friday as a day of "sightseeing" and will be going out for a romantic dinner (huuh huuh huuh, as the french say). That way I won't overload her musical tastes as well. She's not as prog savvy as we.

I will be there of course but probably have to work during a lot of the breaks.

Where will you be working/set-up so we can visit on the breaks.
And I'm not sure I am familiar with you. You have another handle here? Don't you do a show? (I know I'm embarrassing myself here.)
Ah, Sean - progressive shores, of course. Sorry. Cool. Glad I'll get the chance to meet you.

Looks like you've found the Christopher Reeves replacement for any future Superman movies.
Actually, it looks more like the Ultraman pose but I doubt many here will know of Ultraman (http://10kbullets.com/images/2006/07/ultraman-s1v1-03.jpg).

Ah, what a great picture!
No worries O.H.A.D., I don't expect people to know me, especially the amount I'm around lately. I'm one of the FMPM organizers so I will be around our merch table and otherwise floating around looking for trouble.

I remember Ultraman without having to look back at the link. I used to watch it religiously as a wee lad. Though I must admit, Sean, you do have the pose down.

Sean, I will be sure to find you so we meet. ANything on the sidelines (not the mainstage music) going on I should know about?

Hey, all -
Saturday brunch sounds very cool. Do we want to meet at a pre-set time (10 AM?) outside the venue and walk to brunch from there? Jenn and I will be walking distance (I think - staying at Chateau L'Argoat on Rue Sherbrooke E), so I'm open to other possibilities too.
Sean, I know we have been running in some of the same online prog circles for many years (remember when you took over the used prog CD shop?), and chatted just once at NEARfest. I hope I get to say hi at some point.

Hey Doug that sounds great, Susan and me are staying on Sherbrooke also, at the Hotel Residence Voyageur at 847 E. Sherbrooke, so we are close to the venue as well as close to you guys, I hope everyone reads this and we can make some plans definite.....

I'm just down the street at the Governeur (couple of blocks). So that sounds great. I'll check brunch menus today while I research a "romantic" dinner for Sallie and I for Friday. I'll come up with some options. Any food allergies or vegans in the bunch?

Not from me and my sis but thanks for asking. This'll be fun. :)

Looking forward to seeing you again Doug, although you're going to have to come up to me and say "YO I'm Doug" because I'm an idiot and won't recognize you :).

For everyone's benefit (not just Sean, who apparently is both a self-professed idiot AND bastard!)... here's me in Mendoza, Argentina (Feb '06).

Here's a little place that looks good. A little bistro that does omlets, croissants. Nice review and not far away. About 4-5 blocks north of the theater. Only 3 blocks north of Sherbrooke where ya'll are staying.
Why don't we meet at Chateau L'Argoat on Rue Sherbrooke E at 10 (this is Mr. O's hotel). And we can walk up from there. This is about 3 blocks west of Fritha's hotel and about 3 blocks northwest of my hotel. And on the way there.
Here's a review and address for the restaurant. Let me know if you think it's okay. http://www.frommers.com/destinations/montreal/D52113.html
Looking forward to meeting ya'll.

Both the meet-up time/location and the restaurant work great for Jenn and I. See you all Saturday!

So I hear FMPM is in the books. How did it go? Dale, I'll have to catch up with you about meeting Buster. I'm sure he told you many dark secrets from 25 years ago.
