Boy there's some pure metal and non-prog in there, as well as all the prog that's fit to print - the genre expands!

Surely you are referring to the prog giants Feist, Joss Stone, and King Diamond!

Please don't mix this poll up with Aural Moon's own Best of 2007 show.
This one is for Tom's show.
The Moon's own Best of Show is under discussion as we speak.

I don't get the drift of your post Rick. I was just pointing out to some of our newer members that Tom and AM's shows are separate entities in case there was any confusion.
"Keith I'm only noting that the genre seems to be more inclusive - I do indeed know about this countdown every year - and it's much anticipated...as is Wojtek's annual foray." Seems a little defensive and I'm not sure why you think you need to be so.

Keith I thought you were responding to me. I didn't know you were making a new comment - I've deleted my response, sorry for the confusion. Certainly no defensive attitude intended, that's not my style.
Got a big project gotta run, feel free to delete this if you like. :winkies:

Did anyone see Big Big Train on Tom's list. I couldn't find them. That seemed to be a big ommission in my mind.

You may want to see if it's a late 2006 release or too late this year to be on the list. I did notice the absence of Little Atlas' recently released "Hollow" (which I still need to get :dunno: ) so it may be timing...
is there a place for write ins etc?

A best of 2007 list for the AM show should run from the 1 dec 2006 to 1 dec 2007 as the last albums can't be heard. Last year for example Xangs album Last of the Lasts was released on December 16th and therefore should be evaluated in 2007. Big Big Train however was released well into 2007 and must be a mistake on Tom's part. No list will be perfect though and the question is if AM should have it's own voting list where the worst non prog metal scrap is removed :D
I'm willing to attempt such a list based on the release list I have built up and AM's can put forward additions.

Scrap metal, that's funny.....
I wouldn't delete anything because there are other records on the list that aren't prog and aren't metal. It gets to be too subjective. No one here will vote for Joss Stone for a prog poll anyway (if it was a serious vote).
A great idea to compile a list, maybe you can contact Woj via myspace....and the idea of adding is excellent (and we've done that in the past).
And, I'm willing for a third year to re-broadcast the show in my slot (so we'll have three airings).

i always love reading thru that list...so many groups i never heard of and some i think i'd rather not even try...
it's a good show(the gagli) for hearing many new comers and keeping up with the evolving sound that is prog
