You know what a mellotron is. You mention the m word at a party and people look at you like you just said something in French.

You know more words in Kobaain than any foreign language.

Your dartboards consist of the album covers for 90215, Invisible Touch and the first Asia album.

You stopped buying Genesis albums after Steve Hackett left the band.

Everytime someone answers a question with the word Yes you start singing Heart of the Sunrise(or And you and I).

On the inside door of your bathroom there is a poster of Frank Zappa on the toilet.

When you see a lake you think of Greg Lake, when you see an Emerson Portable radio or see a Ralph Waldo Emerson book you think of Keith Emerson and when you turn over your hand and see your palm you think of Carl Palmer.

When you get sunburn in the summer you look at yourself in the mirror and you say to your wife something like "damn now I look the guy on the album cover of in the court of the crimson king."

You take foreign language classes at your local school's continuing education program just so you can understand the lyrics by foreign prog bands.

You think Trevor Rabin is the anti christ(or at least was when he was with Yes and ditto Phil Collins after his first solo album).

On the Salem Hill website, there is a section titled "you may be a proghole" if....and there's 92 entries.

When you wear T-shirts from your band collection and people go "who the heck is that?"

When you fly to remote parts of the country or other countries to listen to your favorite bands playing in a festival.

When you play your favorite albums for your friends and they all say: "That was.... um, interesting." (you really need to get new friends)

When your wife says "What the hell are you listening too!"

That one doesn't count, wifes just do that because we're not paying attention to them. Doesn't matter what kind of music it is. :aua:
(As you know, we're always in trouble, even when innocent.) :notsure:

I must be a real prog fan then because Pam is always saying "What the hell is that?" when I play things like Whimwise or Devin Townsend but she loves Yes and Genesis.

Oddly enough one of her favourite CDs is GY!BE's 'Skinny fists'. Whenever we have a disagreement she plays that in the car on long trips. ;)

I'm VERY lucky that Pam likes a lot of the music I do and is willing to listen to the "newer" stuff. However, when she's listened and decides "No!" then I go to a lot of gigs alone. :)

You know you are a prog fan;

When friends come to your house to see this music collection you keep speaking about having at home, and after an hour of searching they can not find one band they have ever heard of.:yougo

when you realise that all your favourite bands had their highlight 20-30 years ago...

that you idols are twice your age... (in my case)

that the concerts you're going to there are more invalide-parking spotts than regular ones...

ROFL Keithie, does she lift her skinny fists whilst playing it too? :) I guess as long as she doesn't beat you with them while you're driving you're OK ;)

You think Trevor Rabin is the anti christ(or at least was when he was with Yes and ditto Phil Collins after his first solo album).Ok, I hate to be the guy to bring this up, but actually liking these albums doesn't make me NOT a prog fan. All it does is point out a snooty prog fan. I like Trevor Rabin's stuff a lot, and I like the Collins-prog of Genesis best, and I really like the first Asia album. Doubt my progness? Then in the words of David Bowie, "Let's Dance." :boxing:

If it weren't Wednesday, "Endless Dream would be requested and dedicated to Mike! :rockband:

These days I think you're a prog fan if you leave a Circa gig shouting "WHAT?????" to everyone who talks to you for the next three days.
