Tom Gagliardi hosted a show which was broadcast live from NEARfest exclusively on Aural Moon. Who listened in?

I'd really like to know as Aural Moon's relationship within the NEARfest organization stands to profit in the future.

Your impressions? This was only the second time we've had a live performance on Aural Moon.

I was able to listen in on Friday evening. The sound quality was very good this time around. Seemed to go better than last year, which was okay in it's own right, but I was able to hear and understand a good bit more.

I listen, of course, to the 128 stream.

The musical guests were great.

Actually, there was noise in the right channel all Friday eve. We isolated and corrected it on Saturday. So, if it sounded good Friday, it must have sounded GRREEEAT on Saturday.

FWIW, I'd like to broadcast Gag's show using the same system we used ths weekend EVERY weekend.

You know what is said about best laid plans. I didn't get a chance to listen in either night. Wound up working late Friday, and had completely forgotten about it by Saturday night.

I hope it all works out in the future. But I plan to be there next time :knowing:

The noise was from one of the laptop's external power supply (wallwart) getting picked up in the audio lines. From the board was a mishmash of balanced and unbalance lines, XLR couplers, RCA to 1/4" phone plug and 1/4" to 1/8" phone plug. Bill Fox (bass for Pinnacle) recognised the sound when we were able to isolate it on Saturday and suggested using a grounded to ungrounded cheater plug to remove the ground loop. The sound disappeared as soon as the coupler was used. :D I've already stashed that little bit of knowledge safely away for future ref in the dark recesses of ye olde brainbox.

Davin recorded the shows from the output of my second sound card. I'll see if he can upload them. I'd love to put one up on Tuesday in the usual Gags replay time-slot. We normally record them on the station itself but I didn't want to tax that box too much since I was already tunneling the feed via ssh (a large amount of number crunching) to the station. The station is already busy enough running SAM and doing all of the stream encoding for the 3 MP3 streams and 2 AAC streams as well as serving the 128Kmp3 patron streams.

I'm very pleased that everyone thought that the sound quality was good. I'd like to stream the Gags show to AM the same way each Saturday eve. At least that would get rid of one of the common gripes about the Gagliarchives from listeners. Sorry, technology hasn't yet advanced enough to elide the PSAs. ;)

Davin has uploaded what he recorded from my system. I'll need to look into when it can be re-aired.

I was thinking today (RFW) but with Cozy and Moses replays, it's probably not going to work due to the length of these recordings.

Is Cozy set up this week? I don't remember a thread on it... I think Moses is set up but he is in Peru....

That's a good question. I'll take a look-see and get back.
