A few nights ago I caught the Sigur Ros: Heima film on the Sundance Channel. I had been lukewarm to their music; interesting if I was in the right mood, but nothing to write home about.

I found myself sitting spellbound for the whole duration of the film, numbed by the beauty of the music against the social atmosphere & breathtakingly gorgeous scenery of Iceland. The final song moved me, deeply...

If you have the chance to catch it on the vidiot, or purchase it, I highly recommend it.

I bought this film a last year and had the same reaction Goo. Great film, and the music is tremendous. Really made me appreciate the group a lot more than I had prior to the film.

We were watching it in tandem, goo. Actually I came on to shout to give a headsup about 20 mins before it started and ran into Jim, which I enjoyed so much I missed the first few mins. But we recorded the whole show.

As a long time Sigur Ros "fan", and never having had the honor of attending a concert, the missing link for me was in seeing the musicians interact on a personal level. So this film completed all that for me. And yes, the cinematography was incredible.

I see there are two more airings scheduled this month. If you get Sundance Channel and are the least bit interested in this band...this is a must see program.

Though I do not condone such things, it is available on Google Video.

This is really amazing - I saw this very same film last weekend and it was really the very first time I ever heard their music. I have to say "WOW!". On top of the fact of where they filmed this - "DOUBLE WOW!". Great stuff. Really intriguing stuff.
