View Full Version : I had a weird dream last night

This is too good not to share. Last night(actually more like this morning since I sleep late but that's another story) I had this dream that Genesis played at Rosfest(as headliners ofcourse). Here's the catch. It was the same lineup as the one immediately following Peter Gabriel's departure. This was cool because it meant Steve Hackett played. I think it was even billed as "Hackett era Genesis." The weird part is that Phil didn't sing any PG era Genesis songs but instead sang Peter Gabriel solo songs to fill out the rest of the set list which only included Wind and Wuthering and A trick of the Tail. I don't remember what the Peter Gabriel songs were but he also sang a Peter Hamill song(reawakening). I told you it was a weird dream! ;)Sometime afterwards I talked to Phil Collins but he looked different like he was in a train wreck or something. It was like an alternate version of himself but he wasn't wearing a goatee. I wish I had more details about this dream but I don't think I remembered more even when I first woke up.

Sounds like a dream I had a few times in the '76-'78 time frame save for the Peter Hammill bit... or was that reality?

It's funny how when someone makes themself vulnerable and shares something like this how some people see that as an opportunity to get their digs in. As if we don't all have weird dreams from time to time.

Anyway, regarding the Peter Hammill thing I think it's because Peter Gabriel apparently is good friends with PH and the fact that they have worked together that his song was in there. Also, being that I just read Peter Hammill's and Peter Gabriel's wikipedia page and saw PH listed under PG's credits also probably explains why it popped up in my dream.

I'm sure we've all dreamt weirder stuff than that. Hell, I do every night. I don't mind sharing them. The digs will come anyway :yougo

Most of the time dreams are just putting together things you've recently seen - that sounds plausible.

I agree with you ohd. :notsure:
Mike sorry if you thought my first post was damaging in any way. I donīt mean to be disrespectful or make fun in any way. I am a person that likes to share his dreams too.
So sorry bud, just keep on dreaming and forget about the comments.
Although I know how it feels, being a musician/composer myself; I get a wide range of coments ranging from bad, terrible to good. Even 5 year olds can give their opinion when it comes to music.
So when you share your dreams and creations with other people you are automatically putting yourself in the public eye.
Donīt get discouraged, just keep doing what feels right to you...

Based on AAABall's comment I will just assume you were joking around(despite the lack of smileys)and not take it so seriously. It's not the first time someone has told me to lighten up. I think that if some of you met me and hung out with in person you would see I'm actually rather fun. :D

Never any disrespect meant, Mike. Sweet dreams!
Dreams are inherently unreal, and as the specialists would say...revealing.
Hmm...remind me never to see a specialist....
My hope is that all your (good) dreams come true!

So that's like the one where you see yourself standing in sort of sun-god robes on a pyramid with a thousand naked women screaming and throwing little pickles at you? No? Why am I the only one who has that dream...? :P

A Trick of the Tail and Wind and Wuthering would make a terrific set IMHO.
