I got an email from Nektar today. It reads:

A quick news flash just to keep you up to speed.

We will be performing an acoustic set on the Sunday after the Rite Of Spring Festival in Glenside Philadelphia PA USA.

This is going to be a very special celebrative arrangement after 40 years of Nektar and an opportunity to hear Nektar music like you never have before!

There is only room for around 250 people so you'll need to keep an open eye on the tour page (and the announcement panel on the front page) for updates to begin securing your seats.

Although this gig is confirmed, the venue is still a choice of two, either the Hilton or the Holiday Inn. Confirmation of which will come shortly (they are being compared to make sure we choose the right one for the job).

If you were thinking of getting to the ROSfest this year, this may be an added incentive if you can book your place so making it a really refreshing weekend away.

I'm guessing, but it's likely that there will be much more of an opportunity to meet some of you too, as we would love to be available for some interaction afterwards. :rockband:

Well I am glad I decided to stay at the Hilton - looks like they have chosen that hotel for this special venue!!

I believe the NEKTAR gig will be held in the room where the ROSfest after party was held last year. 250 people in that room, like I believe I mentioned here in another thread, is rather ambitious IMHO.

The Holiday Inn and Hilton Garden are only about 100 yards from each other. That's not an insurmountable staggering distance in most cases.

Yeah Right....;)

I think the "insurmountable staggering distance" will be directly proportional to the number of pints one has consumed. Of which I plan on consuming a "staggering amount"!!

Works for me!!
