Greetings Mooniverse fans.

I will be returning to the microphone for this broadcast, but I must warn you, I have a throat issue, so the Golden Warbler (as someone has pegged me) will be more like a thrush.

Today, on Corner of the Mooniverse, we celebrate the progressive rock festival coming up this first weekend in October - CalProg 2010. The promoters of CalProg 2010 were able to align themselves with the kick off performance of Spock's Beard current tour. This coup was the ONLY performance in the USA by Spock's beard this year. Kudos.

So, in honor of that, I am debuting their new 2010 album "X". Here are the track listings:

Spock's Beard - X (2010)

1. Edge of the In-Between - 10:30:00
2. The Emperor's Clothes - 6:00:00
3. Kamikaze - 4:15:00 (kick-ass instrumental by Ryo Okumoto)
4. From the Darkness - 16:53:00
-- a. The Darkness
-- b. Chance Meeting
-- c. On My Own
-- d. Start Over Again
5. The Quiet House - 9:13:00
6. Their Names Escape Me - 8:51:00
7. The Man Behind the Curtain - 7:44:00**
8. Jaws of Heaven - 16:22:00 (the standout track of the album)
-- a. Homesick for the Ashes
-- b. Words of War
-- c. Deep in the Wondering
-- d. Whole Again

The 2nd portion of the show debuts another group to Aural Moon - Arrakeen. A French neo-prog group from the early 90's. Kurt has selected their 1990 EP - Patchwork. I think you'll like this a lot. Look for a great guitar solo by Steve Rothery of Marillion on the Live track.

Arrakeen - Patchwork (1990)

1. Le Monde du Quoi - 5:35:00
2. Differences - 11:25:00
3. L'ent'aluve - 4:30:00
4. Folle Marie (Live Version) - 9:15:00 (Features Steve Rothery of Marillion)

Here's a good review/article about Arrakeen: http://www.musicaldiscoveries.com/digest/digest.php?a=viewr&id=330

I hope you can join us for Monday or Friday's broadcast. See you on the Corner of the Mooniverse.
