View Full Version : What the Heck is SAM?

Connecting to AM this morning, I get about 20 seconds of music and then a message telling me to "register SAM", whatever that is. Then the stream hangs. Seems to happen consistently.

What's the deal? It can't be telling me I haven't registered my MP3 software, because I'm using iTunes (http://www.apple.com/itunes/) on my Macintosh.

I get the same message! Haven't been able to listen to AM for almost 2 days. I am dangeously close to withdrawal! HELP!

I'm also surprised that there hasn't been an announcement on the Aural Moon home page.

This is the first I'd heard of this problem happening on the station. SAM is the program that drives the Aural Moon playlist, so I assume there's some kind of configuration issue on the server. Joy!

Avian, any idea what's up on the config side?

I thougt SAM was used by the russians to shoot down american planes, but I noticed it certainly has hammered down the number of listeners so I think someone will look into the problem. I have had to refer to a more inferior station with bloody ads until an explanation. So don't give up hope. Yet.

I sent a message to Davin earlier today. "What's playing" has shown "Cross" for ages.

I know that patience is a virtue but............I NEED MY AM, MAN!!!!!

Avian is travelling right now, so we're down until he gets a chance to look into it. I have one or two things I can try remotely, but I haven't seen this problem before, so I'm doubtful I can do anything...
