Well, small fact here: The longest Yes song was "The Gates of Delirium" at 21:56, but this clocks in at 23:58. So... that's cool.

So then it's Trevor lead singing side 1 and Benoit on Side 2. Interesting contrast?

This is what we know so far:
Band Lineup:
Chris Squire: bass
Steve Howe: guitars
Alan White: drums
Benoît David: lead vocals
Geoff Downes: keyboards
Trevor Horn: producer
It appears from this that Trevor isn't singing at all. However, Squire provides extensive additional vocals as well, and it is presumed that Howe, and possibly White, Downes and Horn, provide backing vocals too.
Additional information:
"Fly from Here" is based on the 1980 Buggles/Yes song "We Can Fly from Here". "Solitaire" is an acoustic solo piece by Howe. Material mostly written by Squire/Howe/Horn

So Oliver didn't do any keyboard work on this? That's interesting since I thought he was still in the band when they were recording it. Maybe Geoff wasn't a full blown member yet when they recorded it.

The writing credits are out. The following is quoted from http://www.bondegezou.co.uk/wnyesm.htm#newalbum
The writing credits are...
1. "Fly From Here - Overture" [Horn/Downes] (1:54)
2. "Fly From Here Pt I - We Can Fly" [Horn/Downes/Squire] (6:01)
3. "Fly From Here Pt II - Sad Night at the Airfield" [Horn/Downes] (6:42)
4. "Fly From Here Pt III - Madman at the Screens" [Horn/Downes] (5:17)
5. "Fly From Here Pt IV - Bumpy Ride" [Howe] (2:15)
6. "Fly From Here Pt V - We Can Fly Reprise" [Horn/Downes/Squire] (1:49)
7. "The Man You Always Wanted Me to Be" [Squire/Johnson/Sessler] (5:18)
8. "Life on a Film Set" [Horn/Downes] (5:12)
9. "Hour of Need" [Howe] (3:08)
10. "Solitaire" [Howe] (3:30)
11. "Into the Storm" [Squire/Wakeman/Howe/Horn/David/White] (6:54)
I presume Horn did the lyrics, or at least mostly, on "Fly from Here" and "Life on a Film Set". ("Bumpy Ride" is an instrumental.)
On "The Man You Always Wanted Me to Be", the lyrics were by Squire and Simon Sessler, who I believe used to manage IQ.
That leaves Howe writing lyrics for "Hour of Need", and god knows who did what on "Into the Storm".

Well, nothing really reaches out and grabs you. Last song sounds good.
But then again the evil Apple empire did it's best to have the lowest audio quality possible. :horsepoop Sounded like music from out of a tin cup.

Dang. I was really hoping Trevor did all the lead vocals on We Can Fly From Here. Chris doing lead on #7, and the writing credits of that song, and the guest on keys, makes me think that that song is closer to a Chris solo song than a "traditional" Yes song, but knowing that Alan and Steve are one it makes it Yes.
I'm looking forward to it, but not as much as I did The Ladder.

Okay, just listened to the clips multiple times, and by George, Benoit sounds UNIQUE! He is NOT channeling Jon, which is MASSIVELY important to me. I've gone on record numerous times as hating cloner-singers. On all the live stuff, Benoit is Jon-light, but he doesn't on this studio material. I'm LOVING how he sounds, I don't know, like "himself" - if that makes sense. In fact, he sounds more like Trevor Horn than Jon - either that, or Trevor does way more singing that the credits would indicate.
Aside from the cheesy love song by Chris, I'm liking what I heard - A LOT.:iheartyou

I like what I hear on that. A very Drama-ish feel. Like Benoit's singing on it. Could be good.

the MagicMan does it again...
WE CAN FLY is a strong single, More Rock, less space. David is wonderful, he does not disappoint with critiical control of his voice. He sounds more like Trevor then Jon but with Jons Harmonies .......... Having Downes means no Keyboard pyrotecnics but Ill Take it and like it, sort of............... Cant wait for more524

If you squint your eyes and pretend that John Wetton is doing the vocals in place of David...this would sound more like an Asia song than a Yes song..... still not bad, I like it but, I thought I was listening to a vinyl copy for a minute....because it was so poppy..ha ha.. hopefully the rest of the album will be more Yes-like than Asia-like...

Since it has been 30+ years since Yes released a great album(IMO), I'm skeptical about this one too. But I must admit that the snippets sounded pretty good.

Amazon says live stuff on there. I know what I read.
I clipped this from an interview of Squire(Billboard Mag) Only a 90 minute set according to it. I thought they'd do this. Hate it when I'm right. :drdot:
Before any of that, however, Yes hits the road July 4 in Camden, N.J., for a U.S. tour with Styx. A European jaunt, meanwhile, begins Nov. 8., by which time Squire hopes the group will be able to dip more deeply into "Fly From Here."
"The (Styx) tour is not going to be an ideal forum to present the whole or even a lot of the new album," says Squire, who hopes to have the album with Hackett out this year as well. "It's more of a summer shed, rock 'n' roll-y tour and we'll have to obviously play Yes songs people are familiar with and squeeze it all into 90 minutes. Later on we'll hopefully go into a format where we have a longer playing time, so we'll be presenting more of the new album."

I hope that you are right. From Henry's website (He's not usually wrong):
DVD content: making-of documentary (25 minutes); "We Can Fly" video. (Several retailers are now describing the second DVD component as being "live footage", but I believe it is still a video of "We Can Fly", perhaps performed live-in-the-studio.)

Concerning the DVD, here is a post that I copied from Progressiveears:
Well, it only countains a "making of" which is not very very interesting. It's very similar to the EPK that can be seen on youtube. You can see the guys rehearsing (Steve especially), but you hear the music from the CD. One funny thing : Steve is rehearsing an overdub while Trevor and Chris are listening in confortable armchairs, and you see Chris'redwine glass on a table!
The interviews are too often cut - one sentence by Horn, one by Squire... The editing of this making-of is irritating.
There is no "We Can Fly" video on this DVD!
Don't ask me what "EPK" means :dunno: :D
