Today I am happy to feature a group from The Netherlands: Finch. This group from the mid-1970's were a bit overlooked at the time. At least here in the States. I'm sure they were better know at home and Europe. They only had 3 albums, plus a live album and a compilation album.
Today we will feature 2 of their albums: Glory of the Inner Force (1975) and Galleons of Passion (1977).
Their live album, Stage '76, is a rarity, and it's a good one. This album is actually Disk 2 of their compilation boxset called: The Making of... Galleons of Passion / Stage '76, which had demo tracks that eventually became part of Galleons.
To separate the two albums, I will play a 20 min. epic from Stage '76 called A Passion Condensed. It seemed a suitable prelude to Galleons of Passion. The show will close with a live previously unrecorded song called Necronomicon, ringing in at 17:48 in length. So you know there will be some soloing going on.
I hope you will enjoy this fine Dutch group.
