Hello my friends. Today we continue our look at European groups in the jazz rock world. Our group today is POTEMKINE. (Waaa, he sunk my battleship.)

This group is from a 'small village in France.' They had 3 albums between 1974 and 1977. I will be featuring all of them PLUS their single Mystere.

Now, to be fair, I must tell you that this group is tagged as Zeuhl on ProgressiveArchives. I'm not sure I completely agree with that assessment, but there are some components of Zeuhl but with very strong jazz rock influences. As they progressed in their recording and performance career they strayed further and further from their origin.

So, come on by Oct. 3 @ 1200, Oct. 5 & 0500 and Oct. 7 @ 2100 (e.s.t.) You'll hear the tale of the four brothers Goubin.

See you on the corner.

p.s. - pardon my French. No, really, I'm sure my pronunciations are not always on target. But hey, I try hard. Pardone moi, S'il vous plait.

Don't forget Gilles Goubin. He was on Foetus and later returned to the touring group after the death of his brother Charles in '77.

Thx, Dale. I was able to catch some of this show. What I heard was very nice fusiony stuff. New to me, and worth another listen.

Thank you all so much. I'm glad you liked the introduction (or re-introduction) of Potemkine to you.

If anyone else missed it, you have one more chance tonight, Friday, Oct. 7, @ 2100 e.s.t. I hope to see you there.
