As you know, my heart goes out to you and Buddy.

I am always so amazed at the truth of the old adage of spouses and pet owners growing to look alike after long relationships. Such a handsome pair you make.

Incredible how attached we can become to these beings. Especially with cats that are effectively highly specialized wild animals, not domesticated like dogs.

I don't have a cat coz I live in an apartment, but sure will have one if I ever come to live in a house with a backyard.

I'd name that cat Smoky if it were mine.

Smoke gets in your eyes. :D fumée sounds more like what one would say when walking past a litter box.

J'aime l'ombre. Vive l'ombre!

It has an air of mystery and intrigue that is uniquely cats. 8-)

The full name has ended up being Grayson Ombre - because Ombre doesn't just roll off the tongue like Grayson :D and he likes curling up behind the computer when I'm on the Moon.

I know you didn't mean to, but Grayson was the name of my eldest cat, well, I spelled it Greyson. I do believe your spelling is the more popular.

A fun fact everyone will file under "useless." Spock's Mother was named Amanda Grayson. So, put that in your pointy ears Trekkies. 8-)

J'aime Grayson l'ombre. Bienvenue dans la famille.

Yeah, well Spock said on two different occasions, "An ancestor of mine once posited that once you eliminate the impossible, whatever is left, no matter how improbably, must be the truth." Since, of course, that was spoken by Sherlock Holmes, the implication is that Amanda Grayson is the decendent of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
