The John Coltrane was awesome!I almost didn't play it, as it's atonal, amelodic, aharmonic, and arhytmic. But it is, in the strict sense, music. It's out there, for sure. Challenging. I was obviously unable to chat, but I'm sure there was a little dissension. It'll be a while before I play something that avant garde again. Of course, it was 24 weeks before I played the first.

What a crazy show! I dropped out during Coltrane, but other picks made up for it.

Absolutely NOT!

Sorry Spaz, the Coltrane was a bit much for me. I can only take the atonal free jazz stuff in very small doses, and that one seemed to go on forever. The rest of the show was great though. Keep 'em coming.

Coltrane is one of the most revolutionary musicians, composers, sax players and band leader that I ve heard,,,always I go back soem of his recordings.....this particular piece belongs a phase in deepest searching where spiritual and musical converge,,in his way of course,,..Nice parts, but it tends to tire a bit ,,so glad to add and listen to him in AM....prog and beyond !

I appreciate everyone's comments on the Coltrane. I knew it would be divisive, but definitely worth a play. The most experimental thing from one of the most boundary-pushing musicians of the 50s-60s? Yeah, it had to be played at least once.

But just once. :D
