This evening when a selection from the band SPEECHLESS queued up, progdirjim mentioned in the shout box that this album is a great unknown album. I never heard of the band previously. So I had an idea :eureka:

Since Jim has added most if not all albums to AM over the years, I asked him to share his knowledge and create a list of "Aural Moon's great unknown albums". He asked me to create a forum post to gauge interest in such an endeavor. If there is enough interest he may actually do it! So please let Jim know that such a list would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Karl

SPEECHLESS was a "one-hit (album) wonder" of the prog wrold. The band broke up after their debut album. This was Sean Tonar's band. You might have met Sean at one of the NEARfest's you've attended. I was fortunate to see SPEECHLESS before their demise at Prog Day several years ago.

As for the great unknowns, you might start by perusing the library for other "one-hit (album) wonder" bands. For example, Blue Shift put out a great debut album but, sadly, this band too died at birth.

Just my 2¢ worth...

I'm interested, especially since Jim and I like a lot of the same stuff.

Always love to be introduced to prog I haven't heard of. Go for it!

I would also like to have access to such a list. I'll sometimes hear something I really like on the moon and when I check to see who's's playing, it is often a band I've never heard of.
