View Full Version : Where is Galleon in the US?

Does anyone know where I could find Galleon CD's in USA? I know that Progress Records in Sweden handle their sale now, but they won't print their shipping costs for overseas, and that frightens me. If I could find a store stateside, it would be great because I have decided that I have to own "Beyond Dreams" and "King of Aragon." Any help here?

Best thing I can suggest is possibly ordering it as an import. I'm
rather impressed by their King of Aragon CD (from what I've heard
here) and would want to buy it as well. I just haven't gotten
around to going somewhere to order it.
I've also wanted Crucible's Tall Tales CD, but everyone is out of
stock. Think I heard that Tall Tales may be reprinted as soon
as the band gets more money (whenever that is).
If you find any online stores that sell Galleon, let me know.

I lucked out bigtime on this one. My fiancee knew I wanted Crucible's cd and couldn't find one. So, she did some hunting on ebay (of all the places) and found one there. I got it as a birthday present a year ago. Yes, I found out about Crucible from the Thoughts (Spock's Beard) mailing list. They'd played at NEARfest or something. I checked here at Aural Moon and the songs were here. After one listen, I was sure I wanted the cd. So, if they were to print more of the cds, I'd recommend to everyone that they get one for their own. It's a great piece of work. :D
So, in summary, I'd suggest checking ebay.com, spun.com, half.com or even gemm.com (take your checkbook to gemm) and see what you can find at those sites.

On our home page is a list of labels, where you can buy much of the music we play on AM. Laser's Edge is a good distributor, as is Kinesis and The Artist Shop.
Happy hunting.

After looking at progdjim's answer, I decided to look at Kinesis.
I knew that I had emailed Laser's Edge (lasercd), and they
told me that they didn't have any stock of Crucible.
Back to Kinesis. Wow! I found out that Crucible has another
CD, "Curtains". And they also have "Tall Tales" in stock. I
also saw that they have Galleon in stock (I emailed them to
check if they have both Crucible and Galleon in stock).
Unfortunately, Galleon's "Heritage and Visions" just sold out, but
they still have "King of Aragon", and "Beyond Dreams".
Looks like I'll be ordering at least 3 CD's tonight. :)

Do I get a discount if I do? :)
Or, maybe you'll get a discount for future purchases. :)

By the time I got there, all they had left was "King of Aragon." I sure they re-stock soon.

You won't get a discount, but you'll probably get some strange looks or responses for those folks who don't know who we are:
"Hi! I want that Galleon CD. I heard it on Aural Moon!"
"Umm...errrr....sure thing. <makes crazy circles with finger around ear>"

Well, Powerslave, after you said that you were convinced to get
Beyond Dreams, I figured I mind as well get it with the rest of my
purchases. Sorry if I took the last one! :D
I went to look up Galleon on the web, and apparently they have
about 5 or 6 different albums. They suggested ordering through
Progres Records for their stuff. I think AM should put up the
rest of their stuff, as well as the new Crucible CD.
I'm sure I'll get the crazy looks from Kinesis, b/c I put in a plug
for AM. :)

Kinesis sent my copy of "King of Aragon" out today. They claimed they should have the other five Galleon CD's restocked in 2-3 weeks.
Thanks to all who aided me in my quest!

I ordered 4 cds from Kinesis on Wednesday, order went out on Thursday, and the order arrived Saturday. Wow!
I have to agree with PowerSlave - Beyond Dreams is a good CD. Now I'm just wondering what the other CDs by Galleon sound like.
Ok, Crucible's 2nd CD is awesome. In some ways, it surpasses the first. The only thing that is disappointing is that the CD is over 40 minutes long with 7 songs. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and think that maybe they didn't have a lot of material for the studio.
Their songs are more varied (in my opinion), which shows that they're growing. I'm interested to see what they put out next!

I received "King Of Aragon" yesterday, and I must have listened to "From Square To Circle" at least 10 times since then. In fact, the disc is playing right now. So to answer your question, Naminamu, yes the other stuff rocks! How these guys never got bigger than they are now is beyond me (I'm guessing it's probably their addiction to Zubaz pants or something--in the 2 photos of the band in the CD notes, at least 2 members are wearing them). The lyrics tend to be similar in theme from song to song, but the music is so well-crafted and original, it blows your mind.
Also, the Kinesis store kicks ass, as well! Ordered on Thursday, got it on Monday (Probably would have had it Saturday, but I had it sent to my work address). Meanwhile, I am still waiting for the other 2 (of 3) Citizen Cain CD's I ordered from CDnow. What on God's green earth is taking them so long? The CD's come from England, not Mars! I guess I'll just have to keep listening to Galleon while I wait. No problem here, this one won't be getting overplayed for a very long time.
