check out Tom Mabe, and his cds "Revenge on the Telemarketers", they are hilarious - he tapes the calls and screws with the people real bad! Carpet cleaner calls and he asks him how to take blood out of the carpets - lots of it and in a hurry. tommabe.com

:eureka: a new favorite is to see the number, pick it up and soon as the marketer says 'hello?'...start talking like a recorded message as follows (use your best radio like voice):

I tell them: '"He died". The calls taper off pretty fast.

Wow, you mean I"m not the only one who does that? ;)

One I discovered recently is to say hold on. Then I put on the radio or some other music and then get back to them. I hate it when I am put on hold(sometimes unnecessarily)so I started doing it to them. Sometimes they hang up on me. I haven't tried it with actual telemarketers yet since I don't seem to get many of those anymore(the one benefit of still having a computer that uses a phone line ;) )but I've done it with people who give me crap over the phone. :)

I usually tell them that I/my mother/my dad (depending on who they're asking for) am/is dead ...
