Crazy......
Can't believe the number of Monopoly fans out there. Great game!!!!
I knew a guy who was so rich he played Monopoly with REAL buildings! I don't mind telling you my tactics......Buy EVERYTHING you land on and deal when you need to. Always wear a Camel coat and smoke a cigar while playing too. As for Free Parking. We don't use it for anything. When the Reds and Yellows are loaded with Houses and Hotels though it's good to aim for the "Safe Haven". If I make it to NEARfest 2004 how about an AM Monopoly tournament? If I say to Pam that that's going ahead she may decide that I won't get up to too much mischief.....:D BTW: How IS the leg Yesspaz????:D |

Sounds like a drug reference to me! Jim - you're right, same cost/higher rent - someone told me the reds were easiest to land on, which upon review is ludicrous! Nearfest - unless you plan on not sleeping, leave the Monpoly board at home - and no Risk either! |
the leg and monopoly
The leg is pretty much the same as in the pics, except there is no longer any discoloration.
as for the best properties, it all comes down to percentages. 7 is the most common dice roll, with 6 and 8 being next, then 5 and 9, then 4 and 10, then 3 and 11, then 2 and 12. Then you figure out which starting points are the most common, ususally due to Chance and Community Chest (go, jail, railroads, free parking, St. James Place, St. Charles Place, Boardwalk, etc.). The most commonly landed on properties are, in fact, the light blues, the oranges, and the reds. QED. |
The Leg.
Hey I'm glad to hear that it's coming along OK.
|
That's right....
I knew the reds were the most landed on ones, damnit!

Yeah, but can you read it?
It went way over my head.
I should learn about computers, eh? Only on Aural Moon can you start out with a thread on a shattered leg and end up talking about Monopoly! |

news
I went to the doctor yesterday (10-16-03) and the external fixator comes out 11-10-03 and my third surgery is 11-24-03.
For the fixator part, he'll take off the black frame first, and only the titanium pins will still be in my leg. Then he'll put me slightly to sleep, like at the dentist, and the doc'll take out the pins and put a cast on me. Two weeks later, surgery. I'm gonna try to get pics and maybe videotape it! |

Seriously. I hope it all goes well for you. Will you be detained in hospital for any great length of time or is it an "in in the morning and out in the evening" job? |
three days
The doc thinks I'll be in the hospital three days.

GREATEST POST EVER!!! |
I thought long and hard about changing from Darth Hitchcock to Darth Maul, because I didn't want to open the floodgate of interactive motion avatars, but if I made the move, I made the move.
There are some avatars that are so motion oriented they are distracting. Go to the www.kingsxonline.com boards to see what I mean. |
wish you the best

you get put to sleep at the dentist? for a cavity? you WUSS! I don't even let them use novocaine on me - au naturale now if you were talking about removing 4 wisdom teeth at the same time, I withdraw my comment. It's OK to be put deeply to sleep for that... |
gee thanks!
I think one of my sutres is loose, every once in a while I feel a jab like a knife. I go in not until tomorrow morning. And I get sick when I take pain pills so I suffer.
but it's still less painful than GYBE! |

A little more...

Ok, see, when the doctor took the titanium rods that went through my leg out, blood shot out like a geyser. I was, of course, unconscious. My doc told me that he wrapped my leg up really fast with gauze and threw on the cast. Well, you can see here the massive amount of dried blood that soaked through layers of cast. This is the guaze side.

And this is the cast side...

Here's a particulary brutal shot where you can see the gauze that was directly over the holes made by the external fixator. Yummy.

And here are the scars - the cleaned up aftermath.

Ok, at this point, my leg is sitting quite precariously on the table. My tibia is still non-union, meaning if someone wanted to, they could break my leg with their bare hands. I'm NOT moving. Another cast must be applied. The reason we change casts is because of the blood/sanitary concerns, and because legs atrophy in casts. As it atrophies, it becomes easier for my non-union leg to flop and cause further damage. We must "tighten it up" with another cast. I went blue.

My third cast in nine days. I went green this time, and my friend Andrea decided that if my toes had to stick out, she might as well decorate them. I, being quite comfortable with who I am, said ok. Besides, if a pretty woman wants to play with my feet, who am I to say no?

I read back...
to refamiliarize myself with your ordeal.
At least I got to see that picture of your Mom again!:D |
