Thanks Fonzi. While I don't have the albums you mention, I have a few related ones that need playing again (damn, I still have lots of albums left to buy on my list :D ).

How about:

Henry Cow - In Praise of Learning
Klaus Schulze - Moondawn
Steve Hillage - Fish Rising (yeah, I know this isn't the same for a replacement)

Um, I need to go buy some more albums. Hmph, just when you think you've caught up.

Sounds good Tommy! I listen in on that show!;)

fonzy 02-21-2004 07:05 AM

That would be great Tommy
The Steve Hillage album is also one of those "I would love to hear" records.

Looking forward to it, Thanks

Extended Play 02-21-2004 01:13 PM

excellent. That's next week's show.

KeithieW 03-22-2004 04:38 PM

Suggestion for a show Tommy.

Show's Title: - The Lamb and the Goose in search of space.

Three classic and excellent live shows from the 70s.

1) Hawkwind - Space Ritual Alive.
Double album of superb cosmic mayhem from the Hawksters. Lemmy in fine form.

2) The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway - Live from the Archives Vol 1 boxed set.

3) Camel - The Snow Goose live at the R.A.H from "A live record - disc 2"

What do you think?

Yesspaz 04-11-2004 11:12 PM

Requests eh?

Well, at the end of Keyed Up you said to give some requests. So, how about a show of mind-boggling interplay...

Don Caballero - American Don
King Crimson - Beat or 3oaPP (I would say Discipline, but you played it in the Levin show)
...and others of your picking to fill out the show...

fonzy 04-12-2004 04:03 PM

so you wanted some requests :-)

Here we go.

Giles, Giles & Fripp: Cheerfull insanty of GG&F
David Gilmour: First Album
Gong: Angel's Egg

Just a thought!

Keep rocking/Pontus

fonzy 04-14-2004 06:10 PM

I agree with Yesspaz

Would be great to hear Beat or 3OAPP or perhaps why not the Absent Lovers Live set. Recorded in 84 this finds this perticular Crim in full flight.

Extended Play 04-14-2004 08:52 PM

Actually, Absent Lovers is something I've been meaning to play for a while. I also have a new album to add in. Think it may fit in nicely.

Extended Play 04-14-2004 08:53 PM

The gilmour I've been meaning to play for a while, as it was requested a few months ago. I may use that one for next week's show, hmm . . . (i.e. 4/25)

Roger -Dot- Lee 04-15-2004 12:20 AM

Requests?

Hoo boy.

How about:
  • Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick
  • Rick Wakeman - Live at the Royal Albert Hall
  • California Guitar Trio - any album. I don't care. They're all cool.

Of course, if any or all of these have been played recently, then either disregard, or do a 'best of' type of show. Or something.

I'm going to bed. :D

fonzy 05-03-2004 04:33 AM

Three dear friends

Hi

How about these three

Steve Hackett: Spectral Mornings
Gentle Giant: Acquiring The Taste
Mahavishnu Orchestra: Between Nothingness And Eternity

as always thanks for a great, great program Tommy!

All the best:
Fonzy

Looks like it's time to go shopping. Oy.

Requests

I always feel a little uncomfortable when I hear little bits and pieces of Dark Side. It's about time we heard it as it's meant to be heard - as one single piece.

Extended Play 05-09-2004 11:30 PM

Did an all Dark Side show about 5 months ago. You can search for the setlist in the EP forum. Maybe it'll pop up again . . .

PlayingTheFool 05-13-2004 10:20 PM

One Request:

Soft Machine-Third
Can-Future Days
Pink Floyd-More

Yesspaz 05-13-2004 10:51 PM

Give Crim a week off... Variety

My request for EP is to give the Crims a holiday. Since March 15, the KC albums

Starless and Bible Black
Lizard
Islands
Discipline
The ConstruKction of Light
Absent Lovers
and two KCCC albums coming up
and two or three more after that...
+ a Belew solo album

of the last 25 albums played, 9 have been KC or solo. That's 36%. I like Crimson. I just request more variety on the show.

To put it another way, I've caught myself thinking, "I wonder what KC disc Tommy will play this week."

I love your show Tommy, I really do. I don't mean this as an attack in any way. It's just that there's TONS of music out there that deserves a whole album spin, not just KC.

The following comment is made with tongue firmly in cheek: If you've run out of albums, just say so and you'll get dozens of donations:eek: :D

Rick and Roll 05-14-2004 07:06 AM

yes I know but it's his show

I made a comment about the preponderance of Crimson and Floyd on EP's picture on the Moon gallery. It was a thinly veiled attempt at including more variety.

The two selections I really liked were the Spiral Architect and the Vai - Fire Garden. Beacause I hadn't heard them yet. There's got to be more of that in your closet, perhaps?

Good point Spaz - but there's not enough variety already without suggesting more Don Cab, etc. We are all well aware that you can donate music. Spaz

Agreed, that's why these next two shows are going out. One last push to get it out of my system for a while.

For My Moon Buds

I can hear Gamalon any time that I want (Have all their material on disk and get to see them live from time to time) but as for my friends at Aural Moon I am not sure if any one has heard an entire album in one shot. Gamalon, and Aerial View are two of my fav's, they are more on the rock side of fusion. High Contrast, Held To The Light and Live At The Tralf are more jazzy/prog. After I hear a selection of Gamalon on AM I find my self longing for the song that follows. It would be great if you could share this Buffalo baced gem with all my friends.

Yeah, I'm fully aware it's his show. With Avian's approval, I'll be hosting the headphone show starting in (probably) July, and would love to have lots of listener feedback. That's all I'm doing here.

For the record, I did preface that sentence about donations with tongue in cheek. Everyone knows you can donate. That being said (and just to egg you on, Rick!), there is still one more Don Cab album not on AM, What Burns Never Returns. Being the completist I am, I'd still like to see it added to. That's still way less Don Cab than KC, Rush, etc. It won't monopolize the time or anything. Just a lot of good music that needs exposure, that's all. I'll try to do a lot of that, headphone-wise :)

Sorry if I riled you up Rick and Tommy. That, unfortunately, seems to be a skill I possess :(

Rick and Roll 05-14-2004 01:32 PM

Who's riled up?

aah the written word is tough to decipher....

Gee I hope so. Maybe has something to do with the number of releases being greater on the Rush and Crimson side, I'm guessing.

Wojtek 05-15-2004 05:55 PM

How about:
The Moody Blues - Days of Future Passed
Beggars Opera-Pathfinder
Renaissance-Seherezade and Other Stories
?
:p
