Mostly Autumn

Listening last night, I heard a song on here by a group called Mostly Autumn. Anyone know anything about this band as they sounded great?

Mostly Autumn, quite uknown in the US, becomes slowly a real star in the European world of progressive rock. The question if they deserve it is another case. Based in the UK they consist of many musicians what makes they sound powerful, diverse and interesting.
Stylistically it is a mix of Floyd, Fleetwood Mac and Celtic folk. They have released 5 studio albums, first two (For All We Shared, Spirit of Autumn Past) are more Floydian than the others, "Music Inspired by the Lord of the Rings" is the unexpected CD, effect of 2 weeks of work inspired by fascination of Tolkien's novels. Their last effort, "Passengers" is more straightforward rock with less Celtic and prog elements.
It is difficult to say which album is the best and which album is the best to start adventure with Mostly Autumn. There were arguments among prog fans from AM on this matter. "The Last Bright Light" seems to have everything what makes MA so good band but IMO is too long, overdone and definitely has worse melodies than "The Spirit of Autumn Past". This is btw the main MA problem, they sound great, arrange great but still something is missing, that's why Mostly Autumn is IMHO very good band but only very good.
Check out their Net site www.mostly-autumn.com , don't be frightened as it looks like supermarket :( and don't believe in all what is written there (for example big Genesis influences, which in fact are audible only in sound, not in composition and way of playing).
