Mar 21 & 22 - Lost Works

I. Sleep Dirt (Frank Zappa) 1979

Originally parts of this were included in Zappa's opera, Hunchentoot. Noticably, these are the pieces sung by Thana Harris. The original LP was completely instrumental. Lisa's vocals were added on for the Ryko release. On top of that lost work, this was an original part of the Läther [leather] boxed set that Warner Brothers refused to release. Oh, and the music is phenomenal.[list=1][*]Filthy Habits [instrumental] (Zappa) - 7:33 [*]Flambay (Zappa) - 4:54 [*]Spider of Destiny (Zappa) - 2:33 [*]Regyptian Strut [instrumental] (Zappa) - 4:13 [*]Time Is Money (Zappa) - 2:48 [*]Sleep Dirt [instrumental] (Zappa) - 3:21 [*]The Ocean Is the Ultimate Solution [instrumental] (Zappa) - 13:18 [/list=1]
II. King Kong (Jean Luc Ponty) 1969

Frank and Jean Luc were quite closely linked in the early 70s, so this albums should come as no surprise to those of you familiar with Frank's work. The only song on here not completely written by Zappa was the 4th track, on which he guested on guitar. Jean Luc is phenomenal as ever, bringing out the jazz sensibility in each of these songs. As a favor, Frank produced.[list=1][*]King Kong (Zappa) - 4:54 [*]Idiot Bastard Son (Zappa) - 4:00 [*]Twenty Small Cigars (Zappa) - 5:35 [*]How Would You Like to Have a Head Like That (Ponty/Zappa) - 7:14 [*]Music for Electric Violin and Low Budget Orchestra (Zappa) - 19:20 [*]America Drinks and Goes Home (Zappa) - 2:39 [/list=1]
III. The Man & The Journey (Pink Floyd) 9/17/69 The Concertgebouw, Amsterdam

Prior to recording Umagumma, the Floyd were starting to get interrested in the concept album and toyed with their idea for The Man & the Journey. At some point, this set of material was considered for an album, but it was decided to play it in concert before recording anything (the live disc on Umagumma is from these shows). This is the best known, best quality show from that tour. Not only is it clean and clear as a bell, but they're really on.[list=1]
The Man:[*]Daybreak (Grantchester Meadows)[*]Work [original][*]Tea Time [original tea drinking and quietude, really!][*]Afternoon (Biding My Time)[*]Doing It (Grand Visier's Garden Party [Part 2])[*]Sleeping (Quicksilver)[*]Nightmare (Cymbaline)

The Journey:[*]The Beginning (Green is the Colour) [*]Beset by Creatures of the Deep (Careful with that Axe, Eugene)[*]The Narrow Way (The Narrow Way [Part 3])[*]The Pink Jungle (Pow R Toc H) [*]The Labyrinths of Auximines [original] [*]Behold the Temple of Light [original][*]The End of the Beginning (A Saucerful of Secrets [Celestial Voices])[*]encore: Interstellar Overdrive[/list=1]

Schweet. I've read about this, and if Mississippi State is not playing at the same time, I'm so listening.
