King's X, some comments

Sweet. "Black Flag" just played. I checked the playlist and the other song added is "Black Like Sunday." I notieced that htese are both KX tracks played by RNR on his show, and were thus in the playlist. But also, they are two of the most un-prog of KX. If the move to add KX has been made, I can, uh, help. :D

I concur. Of all the King's X tracks that could have been inadvertently added to the playlist, Black Flag and Black Like Sunday are about as conspicuously un-prog as you can get.

In other King's X news, the new album is slated to be released September 27th. Mark your calendars, and wait patiently.

about it being accidental - poopy.
about the new album - can't wait. The demos I heard kick gluteaus maximus.

problem...

fixed.

No King's X is on the playlist, and was not approved by Jim. Any stray files will be removed this week.

I will play some Kx sometime, but they're not a Moon band yet.

Hey, I LIKE King's X - I just don't see PROG in them. Hell, I own three of their CDs now, and will likely continue to add more to my collection.

(I own KX4, Gretchen Goes To Nebraska, and Black Like Sunday)

I guess I could have said that, to reinforce that fact that I know you've stated but others may not know.

Never said you didn't like them. In fact, how can you NOT like them?!! :D

That said, Gretchen is a great disc. "Pleiades," "I'll Never Be the Same," and "The Falling Down," - man, what music. KX4 is the most overrated disc in my mind, but still, it's good stuff. BLS is so hit and miss. "Johnny," "Screamer," "Rock Pile," "Dreams," and "Finished" are great pieces of music, but songs like "Down," "Save Us" and "Two" are lacking. Jim, my next two suggestions for you are Dogman and Faith Hope Love, with Bulbous coming up next. Dang, and Tape Head rules... Heck, get 'em all. I've been craving some Manic Moonlight lately.

My suggestion is to go chronologically. They are a rare band where their stuff imo is a bit worse with each record except for the debut. (I have them all though and like them).

Remaining order suggestion:

Faith Hope Love
Dogman

These two are must-haves. Just buy.

Out of the Silent Planet

debut, could be a bit raw for your tastes. i love it lol

Ear Candy
Tape Head
Bulbous
Manic Moonlight

I'd be happy to rip these so you can hear them sometime.

Yeah, ditto. But I have to disagree with Rick! (how many times have we jawed over KX? :D ). Tape Head is phenomenal. Gretchen is over-rated (many good tracks, but some of it is just not up to snuff). What's wrong with Bulbous? Nothing! Manic Moonlight is hit and miss, but the hits are big ones - "Skeptical Winds" gets me in trouble with my landlady because of the volume demanded to give it justice! "Believe" and "Vegetable" are two killer songs. Man, I'm getting exicted for this new album; only four months...:)
