Join the GAGLIARCHIVES, Saturday night at 10pm Eastern
Time, for program 904, as we feature an exclusive interview with
Philadelphia artist and ongoing project Alon, as he plays in our
studios. Alon has appeared in many different incarnations over the last 14 years on our program, First as Bag, a zany, Zappaesque, eight piece theatrical rock group featuring costumes, extravagant set designs and surreal banter between the vampish Mrs. Bag and her insignificant other Mr. Bag (aka Alon). In 1990 they released Happy Family on Great Egg Records. Later in the mid 1990's, Alon returned with the project entitled no1uno, a favorite on our program. Persian Butterfly, Alon's first CD from 2002, serves as instrumental interludes between the lyrically powerful songs in his live performances. It is an ornately textured production of six and twelve string acoustic guitar compositions immersed in swirling and starkly inventive effects. Alon will join us to talk about the forthcoming album The Artist Manifesto. It's also a literary doctrine, a proclamation challenging the sacred, romantic ideal of the struggling artist. http://www.alon.tv

We'll feature new music from Steve Howe titled Spectrum, the new tribute disc to Bass legend Jaco Pastorius titled Gospel for JFP III, featuring jazz and fusion legends, band mates and colleagues of the legendary electric bass virtuoso and innovator Jaco Pastorius, among others: Alex Acuña, Carles Benavent, Charles Blenzig, Delmar Brown, Hiram Bullock, Kenwood Dennard, Hugo Fattoruso, Michael Gerber, Gil Goldstein, Danny Gottlieb, Billy Hart, Toninho Horta, Bireli Lagrene, Armando Marçal, Marcus Miller, Bob Mintzer Othello Molineaux, Jorge Pardo, Felix Pastorius Jaco's son, John Patitucci, Mike Stern and more. We'll feature two bands that will be performing live in our studios next Saturday night. First up, our good friends Marillion as they embark on an acoustic tour, featuring Steve Rothery, Pete Trawavas, and Steve Hogarth called Los Trios Marillios. We'll spotlight music from their new album Marbles, and some flashbacks they did in our studios 10 years ago. Then, powerful Boston band Fluttr Effect joins us in our studios next Saturday. We'll be featuring music from their latest titled Trithemis Festiva. Don't miss this excellent new band.

New reissue from the Mio Records label in French avant-garde artist Philippe Besombes and his collaborative work with Jean Louis Rizet titled Pole. We'll also feature Steve Hackett's new 2CD set titled Live Archive 05 featuring Steve's acoustic lineup with brother John Hackett, and Roger King. We'll feature new music from British project called Willowglass and their new self titled release. A classic from the Pat Metheny Group and their monumental debut, and a spotlight on Mike Keneally as he makes his way to Philadelphia next weekend.

And we'll feature music from our returning #1 disc by Porcupine Treeand the new Deadwing!
