Music to check out

Hi Moonbuds,
I have created a space for my music, you are welcome to check out some of my music. I feel somewhat like an amateur, even though I've been at it for a while. Feel free to post comments and rate the songs if you wish, bad :surrender or good :) . I do value the opinion of you folks here because all Moonies have good musical taste 8-) , that's why we listen here!
Myspace looks like a cool place for this type of thing. http://www.myspace.com/andykubicki

Wow, Andy.....

IMHO better than some tunes that are on the Moon....I liked best Utopian Heights...

So, why don't you donate some originals to AM, so they can get on the Playlist...(at a higher resolution MP3)?

Andy.............I have to say, that the more I hang around here, the more inspired I get. I like ALL 4 of the tracks........well written, well played and well produced.............not that I'm an expert in all these, but "I know what I like".......and "It's only rock and roll and I like it, like it, yes I do". Ok, your music isn't r&r, but you get the point.
As for me, I used to play guitar and bass in various local bands with various styles. I did that for 14 years. In 1978 I quit playing music to save a marriage. The marriage didn't last, but my stay from music did. I came here, about 4-5 months ago just surfing around to see what's up in the music world these days. I guess I was looking for something to do, other than play WWII X-box games all evening. Anyway, I have recently re-invested money and time into instruments and computer recording stuff. I was originally inspired by ricb, then kirk, and now you. I am having the best time of my life since the 70's, with all the new music I've been re-introduced to and all the musical inspiration on the "Moon". I'm not quite back up to my old self, but working hard and enjoying it more. Keep up the GREAT music and I'll be following your ventures. Get your stuff in the "Moon". It will be well accepted. Rob

Good job Andy!

Especially second part of Utopian Heights is great. Guitar solo, keyboard pads in background - I love that recipe for music :D.

Hi Andy -

Around mid-April we should have a web site up for our new company that we hope will revolutionize the independent music market. Perhaps we can get a song or two from you for beta testing...I'll let everyone know when it's up.

Will listen to your songs this morning I hope....

Like You is a lot of fun, love that song.

Utopian Heights woule be great as past of a 15-20 minute piece...great stuff.

Timeless Enigma's first three minutes were outstanding, then meandered a bit. Was that a clavinet I heard?

All fine music. You should be proud!

Thanks Lotus! :iheartyou Actually, if you do a search for my name or Utopian Heights, you can request it here on AM in the quality of the stream you're listening to. :) . It's part of our compilation we did over on the Gentle Giant list, and I submitted a copy recently. Because the search function doesn't work well when you type in more than a couple words, you may need to just type in parts of the title. For that reason, I posted this http://www.auralmoon.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2412 so you all could see which tunes are off the CD. You could search their names and make a request if you wish. I would heartily recommend listening to the other musicians too...you may enjoy them more than me!

Perfect, Rob! Now I feel I am on a mission, even though this did not start out that way! I was only in the one band that you heard here doing Timeless Enigma (ELP referrence not intentional) which was a practice session with some added keyboard parts last year. But after that band (two live gigs, that's all, though we had em dancing in 11/8!) I too left music, so I never got as good as I could have. But now my two boys are pretty much grown up and I can go back to playing and writing. (BTW, both my boys also play :) )
BTW, my first wife used to ridicule my playing. I should have left her before I left music! My current wife is supportive. Matter of fact, that's her voice in the last 3.5 minutes of Utopian Heights...and she's not even a prog gal!

Dziekuje! :iheartyou

I need to add that this one was a collaborative effort with Glen Burg (Canada) and Glenn Liljeblad. Glen wrote a lot of parts to this piece, changing what I had started out with. He also did most of the playing...he did it so well, why mess it up? I added a couple minor keyboard parts.

I've been meaning to ask about that project...I've seen you mention it before...can't wait!

Thanks Rick! Are you saying that UH should be longer? It's already 12 minutes LOL! Timeless was my first piece and I'll have to fire up the Keyboard, but I do believe that was a clavi-something sound. That was done on the Yamaha DGX-203 (The new additions, that is, cause that was recorded circa-1979)

I do appreciate the responses guys! Sometimes we aren't too confident about what we create...I also felt the My Space site might have been too much of a practice in vanity, but it was a good place to show music...and you all know what I look like now. Apologies to those who lost their eyesight looking!

It went by fast...12 minutes about right.:-V

If you're not confident, think about those of us who can't play! Confidence is everything....
