Great to link from 'Playing Now' to AMG

I've just discovered that you have links to All Music Guide from the 'Playing Now' page. That's great!

I think AMG is one of the most informative and reliable music sites and I've been using it for several years now.

PS
There seems to be three links to the 'Playing Now' page...

http://www.auralmoon.com/playing.php3

Just letting you know.

No, just one.

The other one is the playlist page (requests).

I'm confused why you think these are the same page.

Yes, I understand the confusion.

I found the reason when I checked the code. The 'Playing Now' link on every(?) page is linked to the page itself and launches the 'Playing Now' window with a script.

So, I could copy the 'Playing Now' links from any page and get all different links to the 'Playing Now' window :)

Sorry for the confusion.

The "What's Playing Now" links on all the pages are exactly the same. In addition to launching the "Now Playing" window, it'll take you to the home page. I'm working on a solution where it won't take you to the home page.

But each link is exactly the same on every page.

Okay, this seems complicated.

Let's see...

The 'Now Playing' link on all pages did point to the Home page. But not anymore.

Yes, the 'Now Playing' link is the same on every page (playing.php3) But, it launches the same page that it is linked from.

For example.
If I am on the 'Help' page and clicking on the 'Now Playing' link, the 'Now Playing' window opens and the 'Help' page is opened again. You probably changed the PHP script.

But, if I'm wrong... ah, never mind. No big deal, as long as it is you, and not me, that knows what's happening :)

Hmmm...nope, when I click on the "What's Playing Now" link on any page (including the Help page), I go back to the main page, and I get the Now Playing window popped up.

What browser are you using? Netscape I'm guessing?

I didn't change anything - there's no php script involved in any page but the Now Playing window. It's just a hyperlink that takes you back to http://www.auralmoon.com

I'm using Opera 6 (Win98). I tried Netscape (4.7) and the 'Playing Now' link did open the Home page and not the 'Help' page, as it did in Opera.

Thomas

PS
On the page 'playlist.shtml' there's a HTML element in the 'meta' description.

Avian 02-25-2002 10:23 AM

Call the Opera people and let them know of that bug!

ThomasJedenfelt 02-27-2002 10:25 AM

I'm not sure that it's a bug in Opera that makes it open the current Web page instead of the Home page when clinking on the 'Playing Now' link.

The code (HTML and script) doesn't suggest a link to any page, except playing.php3, and the 'href' attribute is empty. So, it seems that browsers render an empty 'href' differently.

There's some info on script support in Opera...
