What Do Musicians Think of Aural Moon?

In the morning when Jon Anderson rises, does he open up his ears and hear what I hear? Does he think of a way to start the day getting things in proportion--by listening to Aural Moon?

Does Roine Stolt realize there is more to this world that we see with our eyes--that there's also what we hear on Aural Moon?

Does Annie Haslam come along with us, down into the world of hearing--by listening to Aural Moon?

If so, what do they and other progressive rock musicians think of Aural Moon? Are they grateful for the exposure? Do they think it helps or hurts them financially?

Does anyone know?

Some are members, some moonies such as Rick might even be able to give a list of musician moonies. I play music, but I don't make a living from it so my guess I'm not who you're asking about. ;)

For a non-professional, not really famous musician...I like it! ;-)

I don't think that really professional musicians have enough time to sit down and listen to internet radio for two hours or so.
If they want to hear music they prefer artists from the same record company or going to shows from related bands.

Perhaps the Admins knows if Clive Nolan check in here sometimes.

One of the things I pride myself on is treating people equally (bad, no just kidding :))

I have good friendly relationships with many musicians....but mostly from a friends standpoint. I don't like to gawk over people or treat musicians as deities. It makes them uncomfortable. So I'm not sure how much they listen, because we talk about other things. The one conversation I had with Roger Dean was about menstrual cycles, and I've chatted with Matt Parmenter about Barry Manilow. So no help there.

I've found that musicians are busy, especially in prog, becuase they all have full-time jobs (prog ain't paying the bills). So it's hard to get them to listen much to Aural Moon, as jtm noted.

But there are many who I've played and are very appreciative of the exposure. If we can help out in a small way it makes my day. My favorite was Johan Hedman of Violent Silence, who said that by featuring the band on the show, gave him a reason to stick it out a little longer. That was priceless. This business is tough on people, so much competition for the time and dollar.

All that said, here's a list of musicians and bands that I know have heard Aural Moon, either by being in shout, posting, emailing or telling me....

Carl Groves (Salem Hill)
Rik Biagi, Steve Kasitkas (Little Atlas)
Johan Hedman (Violent Silence)
Cliff Phelps (Chaos Code)
Paul Sears (Muffins)
Echolyn
Iluvatar
Frogg Cafe
Rare Blend
Percy Jones
John Goodsall
The Bearded guys! :)
John Palumbo (Crack the Sky)
Anton Roolaart
Combination Head
Tom Galgano (Izz)

I'll stop here. But yes, Vermillion, we get some good pub...let's hope we can continue.

Cool Rick, thx for posting the list of the musos you know that have listened to AM, ask and ye shall receive :). I agree that musicians like to be told they rock, but fawning over them is not so enjoyable, unless you look like Tiffany Minx and want to go back to the hotel or whatever ;). Glad to hear that musicians are seeing some exposure benefit from the Moon, buy them CDs from the bands you like folks! :)

I can add that Kurt Rongey of Underground Railroad is a regular listener, as well as Frank Wyatt and Stan Whitaker from Happy The Man. Erik Norlander of the Rocket Scientists listens at times. Marcus Moira of Bacamarte has been in shout a few times.
