Recording internet radio?

There is a interesting prog-show coming from YLE (BBC of Finland).
(In case you want more information about it check this: http://auralmoon.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3292)

However the boadcasting time is problematic for me (0.05-5.00am) and I thought about recording it.
So could someone share his/her wisdom with me and tell how can I record internet radio to my computer (Mac OSX)?

First off, thanks for using a Mac! :)

RadioRecorder has nice built-in scheduling for setting up recording of internet radio shows.

Ignore Moono regarding copyright. Under Berne Convention 1886 (amended: Paris 1971), this would constitute "fair use" under article 10 assuming you are NOT going to do more than listen to this show at a later date.

Thank you for your replies!

Seems like there are few where to choose from. I will have to judge the pros and cons before I will make my final decision on which of the softwares will win a place on my Macs dock. :-V

Listening it will be. (Surprise to anyone?) Scheduling feature would also make listening to Aural Moons programs much easier, since I am living in Eastern Europen Time... (GMT+2 or actually +3 because of daylight saving time.)

I don't use RadioRecorder enough to warrant placing it in my Powerbook's dock but it is the one I've found the least problematic and easiest to use... and the price was right too! ;)

Scheduling is the nicest feature of RadioRecorder.

now if we could only get someone living in the gagliarchives reception area to record that and pass around to us moonies who used to use that radio show as food...

By the way, I'm not totally sure if the show will be available through Internet. Years ago, YLE ceased to broadcast most of their music shows through the net, because they thought the royalties demanded by GRAMEX, the Finnish "copyright society", were too high for them. Perhaps this has since changed, I don't know.

Some of the stuff broadcasted by YLE is available afterwards on http://areena.yle.fi/

Anyway, my equipment for listening to the show will be a traditional radio, you know. Plus a modest bottle of Scottish probably. :)

I wonder, if this episode can get more complicated....

I noticed that too but it seems like Yöradio doesn´t belong to the programs that are awailable afterwards. (Really stupid IMO)

It is starting to seem like I will also settle for the old school way.:haha:

Yep... Other programs worth checking that seem to be available are at least Jatzofrenia, playing some modern/electronic/experimental jazz, and Kauriin kääntöpiiri ("Tropic of Capricorn"), a world music program. The latter is hosted by Hannu Blommila who's also been a co-host of those Radiomafia prog. nights in the past.

Lellu, it might be that the show will be available through the net after all. According to

http://www.yle.fi/elavaarkisto/?s=s&g=4&ag=26&t=397

it's going to be available via YLE Areena.
