I can't request.

Any help anyone?

For the past two days I've been unable to make requests. I get this message:

You must be logged into the Aural Moon web site to request.

If you feel you have received this message in error, it could be due to an expired cookie. Go to the main page of the Aural Moon web site and click on the "Log Out" link. Then log in again with your username and password. This will recreate the necessary cookie to request.

I've logged out and logged in twice. No effect. I rebooted. No effect. I've checked my cookie settings, and they're set to accept cookies from Auralmoon and keep until they expire. I checked my cookies and have 11 auralmoon.com cookies.

I'm using firefox and am about to update the software. Other than that, any ideas?

Thanks,

Spaz.

Re: I can't request.

Go in and find the folder that holds the cookies for the internet. Delete all of the cookies there - using "clean cookies" in either browser doesn't really clean them out, only those that have expired.)

typicall you can find it in Documents & Settings/local settings.... (You may need to reset folder options to be able to show "hidden files and folders)>

After the cookies, delete all temp files from 'temporary files' and 'temp'

once you've done those deletions, then run the clean-up cache operations with your browser.

After all that (this is getting tiresome, isn't it) then go aural moon and go to the forum section without logging in. There log-in andlog out from the forum page, rather than the home page.

Close up the brower and repeat for I.E. just in case you used it to view AM at some point.

Then reboot and see where that gets you.

This is typically also a sign of having used several locations (home pc, work pc, laptops, etc) logged in at the same time are recently - even if the program is closed on those other pcs.

Check your cookies again. You should have and Aural Moon cookie: jalUserName and it should be your username, Yesspaz. The code checks for the presence of that cookie. It's very simple checking at the point where that error message is generated. If the cookie does not exist, you will get that message.

Firefox is often times brain-damaged in the cookie department. It's brain-damaged in a lot of departments but that's a rant for another day. You might want to delete all of the Aural Moon cookies, clear your cache, and then restart Firefox and log in again.

Firefox => [Edit] => Preferences => Show Cookies
Hightlight Auralmoon.com and then click [-- Remove Cookies]

Firefox => [Edit] => Preferences => Setting
[X] Cache (clear the [_] for other items) then click [ OK ]
now click on [ Clear Now... ] to zap the cache.

I find on Linux, where I use Firefox, that this only tends to remove links in Firefox to content in the cache directory. I have a script (./clean.sh) which actually deletes (securely deletes too as it's nobody's business where I've been and what credit card numbers and other identifying numbers I may have entered) the cache contents.

Thanks peri, I don't know the layout of Firefox on WEENDOZE.
Under Linux, OS X and VMS, FireFox/Mozilla maintains this within the security panel.

In FF 3.5.2 "show cookies" is expressed as "remove individual cookies" then it shows you the list.
It's on the same line as "clear your recent history."

Re: I can't request.

Actually I'd rather with KW pop over to the US - find Spaz - kidnap him - put a leg in a cast - tie him and put headphones on and give him 24 hours non-stop James Last Orchestra and some André Rieu thrown in for good measure... :D

Yesspaz 08-18-2009 09:21 PM

Re: I can't request.

Okay, RM, I've never even heard of those two, so that scares me. The leg in a cast bit would be torturous. Only thing is, you bring that mess to the Deep South, you might have to contend with firearms. We don't dial 911; we dial .357! :D

Don't include me in your evil plan RM.

Ray Conniff orchestra yes but James Last????? I'm not that cruel.

You know the difference between the James Last Orchestra and a Cow????

With a cow the horns are at the front and the A**hole's at the back. :)

Spaz, just to enlarge your knowledge of European music "culture":

The young James Last:

The elder James Last:

Some Andre Rieu:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USZJd...eature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4l3R...eature=related

If you still have not enough, there is a lot on youtube...

I myself have been to a gig of Andre Rieu accompanying my mother (84 years old). She loved it and I was shocked looking at the the 60+ year old woman in the front of the stage nearly waving with their bra..:)...

So be prepared when KW and Rogor arrive..:)
