Ability to cancel a request

Hey, guys. I was wondering what ya'll thought about having the ability to cancel your request. A programming nightmare for you, VAX? I don't know, but I just wanted to throw out the idea.

The theme on 11-17-11 is/was Time. I requested 2112. What I meant to request was one of the live "Overture/Priests" deals, and instead accidentally clicked the full studio version (which I find terribly overrated). I couldn't take it back.

Some sort of ability to rescind your own request would be a cool option. Vital? By no means. Nice? Sure.

Just an idea.

Thoughts?

Since ADMINs already possess this capability via some code I wrote a long time ago, there's really little I'd need to do other than insure that the request you want to delete is, in fact, your request.

I'll add that as a new feature during my copious amounts of free time. ;)

Cool. Would it be possible to make sure that if you requested the wrong song, then cancelled it, you could still make a request?

such a feature looks useless/purposeless to me

No take backs. :neener:

I'm not in favor of public control of request canceling.

I believe one can learn from their mistakes. I have even found new things I like because of them. Then again, I've also learned to be a little more cautious when making choices.

If you need something canceled, ask an Admin if one is about.

Besides.... All the music here is great!!! Not a bad song in the bunch. :rawk:

It's not public control, it's private control. If I clicked the wrong one on accident, why can't I fix it? I'm not asking for the ability to cancel others' requests. That's ludicrous.

You know what I meant.

This issue for me is like putting money in a vending machine and accidentally selecting the wrong item. How much of your time is it really worth to correct that? AND How worth other people's time is it to assist you? In the grand scheme of things this is so minor.

I mean, how many times do you make a mistaken selection? If it's more than once a week, than your error rate is excessive and much more care should be taken in that process.

But, hey, I'm not the boss. It's just my opinion.

I'm not sure I do know what you meant. Yeah, it's a minor thing, but if you go back to the original post, you'll see that I said exactly that.

And for the record, I don't understand WHY it's such a big deal to prohibit someone from canceling their own request.
