Podcast - Question to Jim and Vax

Matt, TheFish, told today on speakeasy that his next show will be a theme show.

Unfortunately I will not be able to tune in for that show as I will be traveling all next week long. I mentioned that it would be great to have a podcast for the shows, so that independent from the time one could listen to the shows. Matt answered, that he heard this request a lot of times, even from the artists he is presenting.

So my questions to Jim and Vax:
Is it possible to make a podcast of the shows (I guess the answer is yes)
Besides all the efforts all you admin and hosts of the shows are investing already, are there more costs involved bandwidth etc)?
Would this mean even more time investing for you (not really acceptable..)
What are the costs (I would gladly contribute)

I really can only imagine how many effort, time, money, enthusiasm you, Jim and you, Vax are just giving us and the world of music to keep Prog alive. So please understand this thread really just as a question. If I can be of any help to install such a podcast system, please tell me.

Thank you

I'm guessing storage issues would be a problem, as well as bandwidth, but the big problem, I predict, is publication and copyright law. A podcast of a show equals ownership of the music.

I don't believe that bandwidth should be an issue. It'd be a one time download for any listener unless, of course, the listener lost their downloaded podcast.

I think all the issues would involve the legality of distribution of the copyright material that would be in the podcast.

I use a phone app called TuneIn (android and IOS). It can record shows (manually). I'm sure there are several other such apps. I think google has a version of this too. I don't specifically remember 'timed' or 'scheduled' recording, but you could check on that with a little further research.

I have an app at home that can do timed recordings. I can't remember the name of the app right now. I'll repost when I know more. I used to record the Gags show for listening when I was on the road later in the week, but now I don't have the windshield time anymore and don't record, but it worked well.
