It's one of those errors that's known as 'transient'. In other words, when I try to reproduce it, Exim looks at me, says "Oh, you're trying to FIX me! I don't *THINK* so." and promptly works correctly.

I'm almost at the point where I'm going to rip it out and replace it with something cryptic.

Or create an 'admin' user with a .forward file to send the email somewhere that works.

I had Jim run some tests... he can send mail to me at my tmesis.com domain but not at auralmoon.com.

I had him telnet to the SMTP server on each. I don't understand why but it appears he gets blocked from the am SMTP port. There's no block in my router so I have to conclude it's in his network (or notwork as the case may be).
