Could have been worse KW, I've actually suffered Dream Theater / Queensryche / Fates Warning at the Garden State Arts Center in '03.
My ears were bleeding by the end of Fates Warning and I had yet to suffer Queensryche and Dream Theater. Queensryche

but at least DT actually played one or two songs below stone crushing volume. It was OK to watch DT play but the openers were just not my cup-o-tea (or pint-o-Guinness which would be more appropriate for me). How do you spell
UNDERWHELMED? I did give it a go though a few times. Saw them first open for ELP

and Deep Purple

Again, with the aforementioned tour-de-ear-bleed-times-three, once for the 6šs tour (unfortunately, they played little of the 6šs) and then again as an opener for YES on the 2nd leg of the US 35th tour. They did an excellent rendition of
Machine Messiah. Can't say there was much more that impressed me though.
