Re: Day of Silence?

I really should have read elliot's link before I said the protest wasn't well organized, I guess they did have PSAs available for people to use while not playing music. Having said that however, the Moon is not like other radio stations, it is small (so far) and we have a community here and in fact I think you'll find if you search the forums there are several threads regarding the price changes proposed by SoundExchange, so it's not like our listener base is unaware of the issue perhaps unlike the listeners of many of the big stream radio stations. Also if you read the aforementioned threads you'll find that many, if not most of us who reside in the US have already contacted our representatives. I know in my case I have written personal letters as well as signed on to petitions from around the net as well as asked friends to do the same. So what good would shutting the Moon down for a day do for me? I've already done what I can do and my guess is that many of the US moonies have as well. Also the Moon has a quite large non-US contigent, they couldn't do anything anyway since they aren't US citizens, so shutting down the Moon just deprives them of their music with no benefit. Anyway I hope that makes things a bit clearer about why several of us think shutting down Aural Moon really wouldn't do much good.
