I met progdirjim again yesterday. He came to The Royal Mews and walked around with me and a few more tourists.....I think he enjoyed it.

As soon as I finished work, I went and met Jim in a local pub before we headed off to Norbiton, a suburb of South London, to see Tinyfish.

Complete idiot that I am, I'd forgotten to take the map of the area that I had printed off earlier so we left Norbiton station trusting to luck really. However, with some help from a few locals we finally climbed a hill, rounded a corner and found The Peel, the venue for that evening's gig.

As it was still early (we got there 3 hours before the doors were due to open) I suggested that we go into the other bar for a beer. That idea met with no resistance at all from our beloved station owner and so 2 pints of Spitfire bitter were quickly ordered.

As I was about to take a sip from my pint I felt a strange presence over my left shoulder. Turning around I was confronted by the sight of a, not unattractive but scantily clad girl asking if I would donate a few coins for "her cause". Said coins were duly dispatched and the beer was quaffed.

Music played and the aforementioned damsel reappeared on the stage and proceeded to remove all her clothing and writhe about in a very provocative manner.

Yes.......unwittingly, I had taken our friendly station owner into a pole dancing club!!!!!!

Over the course of the next two hours more beer was drunk and more girls danced. I think it would have been more fun if the girls hadn't looked so bored with life. I felt really sorry for them actually.

What next? Ah yes.......the gig.

"Bard" played a short set of, I'm sorry guys, unremarkable music. Some of it was good but on the whole there was nothing new there. Then Tinyfish took to the stage.

I'd been looking forward to this gig for some time. It was the first live gig the band had ever played but they did a good job and played all the songs on their album really well.

The only criticism I have is that to my ears they were trying just a little too hard. That is forgiveable as it was their first gig, but now that that is out of the way I hope they can relax a bit and just play as well as I know they can. Really looking forward to seeing them again at SEfest in September.

Right....I'm going to get ready to meet Jim again down the French House. Funny how he likes that place.

See you all later.
Hey, did you get to introduce yourself to Jim Sanders? If so, did you tell him Brian and Martha said "Hello"?
