I saw them open for ELP a while back with most of their orignal band, I believe. I think that was in the early 90's. They had a few sound issues early on but got it cranked up after a few. They only played about an hour - hour 15 that night too.
The first time I saw them in 77 was in Maryland at the Meriweather Paviliion in Rockville. The opening act was a female Guitarist's band. Her name was April something. She was amazing. But she disappeared after a few years. If anyone has some of her work please let me know. Kansas was awesome that night. Played two hours just from the first 5 albums (yeah, still vinyl back then).
I also just found a Kerry Livgren Solo CD I'll have to send in to the library for everyone.
Just think, they were this close to calling themselves White Clover instead of Kansas. Wouldn't that have been a horse of a different color.
