July 20 & 21 - The Early Masters

I. 'In The Court Of The Crimson King' by King Crimson ('69) is often referenced as one of the first major progressive rock albums. Often cited as a critical influence on other bands of the period, this is a definite must-listen album.

21st Century Schizoid Man (Including... (Fripp/Giles/Lake/McDonald/Sinfield) - 7:20
I Talk to the Wind (Fripp/Giles/Lake/McDonald/Sinfield) - 6:05
Epitaph (Including March for No Reason... (Fripp/Giles/Lake/McDonald/Sinfield) - 8:47
Moonchild (Including The Dream/The... (Fripp/Giles/Lake/McDonald/Sinfield) - 12:11
The Court of the Crimson King (Including... (McDonald/Sinfield) - 9:22
II. Although Genesis' first album was 'From Genesis To Revelation', their first defining album was 'Trespass' ('70). Pointing the way in dramatic, theatrical prog, this album contains both The Knife and White Mountain, which survived in their live act well after Gabriel left.

Looking for Someone - 7:00
White Mountain - 6:44
Visions of Angels - 6:50
Stagnation - 8:45
Dusk - 4:15
The Knife - 8:55
III. Yes had their first major success with the hybrid studio/live 'The Yes Album' ('71). Like Trespass, this album contains many songs that have survived up into the band's modern repertoire.

Yours Is No Disgrace (Yes [1 - 9:36
The Clap (Howe) - 3:07
Starship Trooper: Life Seeker/Disillusion... (Anderson/Howe/Squire) - 9:23
I've Seen All Good People: Your Move/All... (Anderson/Squire) - 6:47
A Venture (Anderson) - 3:13
Perpetual Change (Anderson/Squire) - 8:50
IV. Although Kraftwerk had released three previous albums, the didn't achieve a creative peak until their third album 'Autobahn' ('74). Still blending acoustic and electric sounds, much this albums shows a marked shift in Kraftwerk's energies that directs itself towards their later, entirely electronic albums.

Autobahn (Hutter/Schneider/Schult) - 22:43
Kometenmelodie 1 (Hutter/Schneider) - 6:25
Kometenmelodie 2 (Hutter/Schneider) - 5:51
Mitternacht (Hutter/Schneider) - 3:45
Morgenspaziergang (Hutter/Schneider) - 4:03
