Hey Moonies!
This week, I'll be playing another three hours of music from the ECM label.
The ECM label was started in 1969 by Manfred Eicher, who had equal interests in creating a label devoted to contemporary music, jazz and improvisation.
ECM emerged at a time when the US was setting most of the trends in the jazz recording business. Eicher’s vision was to bring new and contemporary ideas to classic music traditions while also producing records of distinct production quality. The end result is a diverse catalog of music in the jazz, jazz-rock, avant-garde, new age, and contemporary music veins.
