Re: Attention Atlanta! Speechless Live 4-19 in Duluth!
Hi all!
We are looking forward to the show next Saturday and excited to see some of our AM friends! Here is an update on the show, fresh from the band blog over at MySpace......
Hope you are all well and allergy season isn't making your lives miserable. Here in Atlanta the whole town is awash in a thick layer of yellow/green pollen. Everything is coated with it- the cars, the streets, anything left outside! Yuck.
It's been kinda odd to only play two shows in 6 months after doing so many in '06 and '07. We miss it a lot, it's probably the funnest part of being in a group. But with only one CD of music it was high time to write more. Can't go around playing the same nine songs forver, perish the thought!
So this new writing phase has been welcome on a few levels. I think we all were curious just what the next album would sound like. Now that a good 1/3rd has been written and arranged a picture is emerging. Similar to the debut, yet more energetic. Some of the energy of our live shows has worked it's way into the new compositions. Two will debut Sat, along with two that have only been played live once before. No doubt refined a tad between then and now.
So please join us NEXT Saturday night at one of our fave original music haunts, Sweetwater in Duluth! We go on around 10:30, sandwiched between two other groups- The Gilrays and The Sane. We are going to play about 20 minutes of NEW music along with some faves from Time Out Of Mind. A great time is guaranteed for all!
Looking forward to seeing some of you there! Then, back to the "writing mode" to whip the remains of the new CD into shape. So far we have written fairly short, compact, tunes. Part of what's on the agenda next will be working up a few more of those and then a couple bigger pieces! Parts of which are already kicking around, but arranging pieces that large takes awhile, as you can imagine. Good news is the bits and pieces for them so far are all really melodic and memorable. Some are pretty aggressive and wild too!
Regards,
Sean
