FYI, there is a shoutcast server stats web page which shows the IPs of the connected streams and a flag is employed to denote the geographic location of the IP. Ever since I saw this, I've wanted to add a similar feature to the
Who's Online. It's a great feature for several reasons:
- To show the international nature of moon.
- Help others recall where a moonie is geographically located.
- Keep tabs on the guests who connect and who may be here for nefarious reasons.
Once I was able to get the Who's Online working properly again, I took to task to implement the flags.
I don't think I will change the flags but I would like to have the mouseover popup declare, with more detail than just the country name, where a moonie is located. The current IP
country database is free. The company that provided it has more detailed databases which cost money. One has state/region/province/shire/etc. and city.
