I wasn't suggesting for a moment the HatN were the best of the genre just that 'Mumps' sums up the joyous feel of it nicely.

To pick a best Canterbury band/album/track would be nigh on impossible. There are SO many to choose from and I wouldn't even try quite frankly.

I do think that Tangents' 8 minute Canterbury "tribute" is a real joy.
