Roland Kirk composed Serenade to a Cuckoo that Tull had on their first album "This Was".
Ian Anderson used Kirks "breathy" style and them moved on to formulate his own style that many others have since copied.
Thank god there isn't the popularity in rock that Kirk had playing the Nose Flute.............although I'm sure if you look hard enough it will be out there somewhere.
Kirk's tecnique of playing 2 saxes at once has also been copied on several occaisions in bands like Back Door, Hawkwind and VDGG.
