I'm not familiar with AcidPro4, but if it's like any of the editors I've used, it would take the mp3, turn it to a wav file, allow you to do the editing, and then turn it back to an mp3.
That would degrade the sound quality. Reripping is probably a better solution, unless AcidPro4 doesn't have to decompress and recompress.
